      I'm hearing that the initial rough score puts it at 209, though with the deductions, probably would be lucky to be over 200. Couldn't agree more...bone is bone!

      I'm still seeing a few fields up in Hendricks and Morgan Counties...but for the most part it's all down.

      I no longer carry it in the field for that very reason...use it on my boots and leave it in the truck. Nothing as fun as a bottle busting in your pack -- or pocket :/

      Yes, it's rifled. Just doesn't like the Super X. At 80 yards in a sled, it shoots about a foot wide pattern :/. Super X was fine from about 50 yards or less, so I might as well just use my bow!

      I've tried Super X but my 500 doesn't like them. Gotta go with the Hornaday on this one! Ever barrel likes a different slug!

      Shotgun question

      I like my 500 and use it for home defense as well as deer hunting. Also, pick up a couple different brands of slugs to see which gives you the tightest grouping -- don't assume because you've always shot a certain brand of ammo that it's the most accurate with your barrel.
