      Cheap red dot advice

My Nerf Gun needs a new scope. Not wanting to spend much money, its just a fun plinker and the scope will get painted some bright if not obnoxious color. Do any of these stand out above the others? My choices are: Holosun HS403B, $120 Vortex Crossfire, $99.99 Sig Romeo 5, $74.69 Also open to...

      Saw a Hind today.

This afternoon. I was hanging out on the loading dock at work. Heard an odd sounding helicopter approaching, flying basically parallel to the big creek, traveling west to east. Watched it get closer, and I'm like, "huh, is that what I think it is?" Got closer, and yup, it was a Hind! Been a...

      Holland Kiwanis Club show, Huntingburg

The annual Holland Kiwanis Club show is Feb 11th and 12th this year. Held at the Huntingburg Event Center, 200 east 14th Street. Free parking and admission is $6. A little bigger than the Ferdinand show with 220 tables. I'm going to try and make it on Saturday.

      Ferdinand show

The annual Ferdinand gun show is coming up soon! Jan 28th and 29th. A smaller show but usually very good, 130 tables with a wide variety. Forgot to mention, held at the Ferdinand Community Center, free parking. IIRC entrance fee is $5.

      Tick reminder

With the warm weather we've had the last few days it would be a good idea to do a tick check after venturing outdoors. It doesn't take them long to get active once the temp stays above freezing a couple of days. Happened to be out in the yard for a bit this evening and when I got back inside...

      Form 1 fingerprinting

Getting things started on a Form 1 suppressor. Is that supposed to be done by a law enforcement agency or is that done at the same place I'd go for the prints to get a carry permit? The way its worded on ATF's website it makes it sound like it has to be done at a cop shop. Also I guess I need to...

      Anybody else hearing turkeys gobbling?

Been hearing them almost every morning and evening the last few days. Had one yesterday that sounded like he was just off the yard. Even had a tom and a jake in the yard this afternoon when I got home from work. Tom's head and wattle was very red.

      Tisas M1911A1, opinions wanted

Not being a big handgun guy this is a brand I've not seen before. The one I looked at seemed to be a tight, well made near copy of the old government model. Biggest differences I noted was a lower ejection port and semi wide hammer spur. I've been kinda thinking about getting a M1911A1 just for...

      A quick suggestion

On the main page up towards the top it says Indiana Gun Owners- Gun Classifieds and Discussions. Since it has always been stressed that this a gun forum first that happens to have a classifieds section, I think it would be more appropiate for the main page to say Indiana Gun Owners- Gun...

      Gun maker relocating to IN

Was at work today and saw a gun safe with custom gunmaker Charlie Sisk's card taped to the front. Thought that was interesting, since he isn't located in Indiana. Little later saw an older gentleman talking with the assistant manager by the safe and went over to see what was up. Turns out he is...

Question for our Georgetown/Floyd Knobs area members

This morning I was heading towards Louisville and at about 9:30 or so I was nearing the Georgetown exit on I-64. I saw a very large aircraft flying at a very low altitude heading south, then gained a little altitude and flew more towards Louisville. I was only able to get a couple of quick...

      New coyote rifle

No more juggling of rifle, light, and call for me! On advice of our very own rookie decided to make a foray into the world of night vision. True tubed NV was out of the picture $wise and it was recommended that I try a Sightmark Wraith digital scope. Mounted it on a Ruger AR that I picked up on...

Looks like the bucks are rubbing

We've had a couple of nice bucks out in the yard all summer. Yesterday the 10 pointer was out there and his rack was all clean and polished. Not even a hint of velvet left. Hadn't put the corn out yet so he left before I could grab the camera. Just a little bit ago a little 5 point was trying to...

Haven't had it long but easily sub MOA with...
