This is out of a second hand, 35 year old Mossberg model 500. I had trouble getting the tube out so I soaked it overnight. This was my "pheasant" shotgun and slugs were never fired since it also has a slug barrel. The tube finally came out and this is what I found:
I found this growing along a creek in Putnam County. It flowers like this every fall and I haven't been able to find out what it is so I'm turning to the experts here on INGO!
I never thought I'd see this ammo again for under $400/1000 if at all. It is in stock again for $349/1200 rounds https://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=9017 so I wanted to give a heads-up. I bought a case of this back in 2011 and it is excellent FMJBT ammo. The primers on mine were...
I've been itching to get back into big bore handgun calibers again. I was comfortable shooting the TC Contender chambered for .45LC using my handloads assembled from Contender data. I also enjoyed shooting my Redhawk in .44 magnum as well as .44 specials. I've since sold/traded my .45/.410...
I bought a pound of just plain old Clays with the intent of working up a load for my 1911. I'm happy with my other powders and didn't see a need to "break the seal" and open the bottle. As it turns out, I'm shooting more 9mm these days and my guns like 4.0gr of Titegroup under either Berry's or...
Xtreme Bullets is running a pretty good sale right now. I copied this from another forum:
"15% off all copper plated bullets with coupon code 15offbullet at checkout.
Does not apply to cast lead or jacketed. Only applies to copper plated AND free shipping !!!"
They still have a good...
We went out to take in some fall color this afternoon and we happened upon a bald eagle feeding on a deer carcass. We surprised it as much as it surprised us but I did manage to get a couple of poor pictures of it as it flew away and after it landed in a tree about 400 yards away. Both its head...
I've been looking at the DNR website and their FAQ but could find nothing about this question: Do I need a fishing license to fish at a conservation club at which I am a member?
Yesterday, (3/2/2013) a group of robins landed here between noon and 5pm. There is a group that stays here every summer that number somewhere around 10-15. They literally disappear overnight every year around late October/early November.
Well, they're back so it's time to get the mower blades...
It's around 25 degrees and breezy here 10 miles SE of Crawfordsville. It is NOT too cold to shoot but it IS too cold to shoot well (at least for me) :D
At least it's a good day to cold weather test the R1 and my reloads. Every one of 98 rounds fed perfectly and went bang :ar15:The gun performed...
I recently converted a Type 56 with tacticool junk back to its original configuration. The problem is that the wood stock has a crack in it and is generally ugly. This rifle has the blade bayonet and finding a wooden stock with the blade cutout has been next to impossible. I suppose I could put...
Here we are in the midst of a drought but I can't help but wonder; Would shooting in a moderate to heavy rain adversely affect accuracy? I would think that a heavier bullet would charge through it easily but what about the small calibers? Wouldn't firing a round like .223, .17HMR or .22LR get...
Bullets 9mm (355 Diameter) 124 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point
Remington 500 pack 124 grain JHP 9mm bullets are on sale at Midway. If you compare, that is within a couple of bucks of plated bullets like Berry's or Ranier. For 11 cents a bullet, you may as well shoot the real thing and not have to...
I was loading some 9mm using Speer's 124gr TMJ (#3993) on top of 5.8gr of Unique which is a max load in the Speer manual and the Alliant website. This load functions perfectly in my SR9C and doesn't show pressure signs. I picked up another bullet out of the box and while it too was very similar...
This was a first for me. My trusty (purchased in 1995) .45ACP sizing/decapping die gave up the ghost this morning. I was sizing some cases and as I sized a clean, normal brass case, there was a crunching sound. I retracted the handle and removed a badly scored case. The inside radius of the die...
