This is why I worry about my children.

At this point I'm past my best if used by date and rather disposable. They are not.
I have said that for years; I am not worried about myself but my children and grandchildren.….not only mine.

Prepare we must, but first and foremost is prayer. And our children must see us praying, leading.

There is clearly no doubt that America is ripe for some kind of catastrophic event.
It’s really just a matter of when.
    Agreed.

I think election time will be concerning. If Trump loses that will pretty much open the door for any one to walk right in and do their business. If Trump wins, the mindless left will most certainly create havoc and that might be a good opening for a major jihad.

This next 12 months will tell allot.

We need to be careful not to be so consumed that we lose our focus, and our minds. A confused enemy is an easy target.

If there were teams of foreign special forces, several in each state, what defenses would we have to defend against them and the havoc they could cause?

Us. I mean that seriously. With the number of non-citizen military age males in the country, it will be up to the militia. (Volunteer list in my case due to age)

Here is a scenario, based on things that have happened in the last several months and years.

    Week 1:
Several mass shootings rock the nation as schools, shopping malls and houses of worship are attacked over several days. Protests to "Stop the Violence" and "Repeal the 2nd" pop up around the nation. By the end of the week many of them are near riot stages during the evening.

    Weekend 1:
During several of the protests, in several cities lone wolf patriots and some rogue cops open fire on the crowds. The news media go wild flaming the protests into riots, sections of large cities start to burn. Some governors call out the National Guard to supplement local law enforcement. Response to the call out is mixed with 1/3 calling in sick, or already occupied in their primary occupations in first response and health care.

    Week 2:
As cities start to burn, a massive cyber-attack hits the phone grid and internet, cutting off communication between panicked families and crashing several 911 centers in large cities. The inability to direct fire and medial responses causes more deaths and distrust. With cities in chaos, truckers refuse to deliver needed supplies. Food and aid stack up in warehouses around major cities.

    Weekend 2:
With first responders already stretched thin, distribution warehouses and food processing plants start to experience fires all over the country.

    Week 3:
Across the nation, several bridges and overpasses collapse due to trucks exploding at key points. A day later dozens of power substations are attacked causing mass blackouts. Crews are not able to do their jobs safely, so they aren't even called up.

Much of America is now cut off from food, medical treatment, water in several days and communication with each other and authorities. Crisis after crisis has left responders exhausted and stretched thin.

How and when does the Federal government respond? Will it be too little, too late, or massive overreach.

When, where, how and around whom do we rally to fight back against this?

Damn, sure glad I'm not of this world, but merely passing though.

Take solace and refuge in the Lord, if it gets that bad we will need him.

    All very good questions.

Kinda makes you wonder why the sudden urge to bridge the DG all of the sudden? That gap has been there for centuries and nobody really cared to bridge it. "just go around it via ferry. No big deal. "
    Why now? (he asks knowingly)

The current Federal government responds ineffectually and unconstitutionally.

A constitutionalist government calls on the unorganized militia to do their duty with instruction to self assemble and provides an ROE via broadcast with clear immunity taken for acts in the service of the nation.

Many in this community would likely become the "captains" of the local militia companies, just as in 1775. Those who are hangers on will quickly lose interest when they are labeled as subversives, and insurrectionists and see their co-rioters shot for their violence. The committed will continue their violence until they are terminated.

Sadly, I don't see our government going the constitutionalist route, it will go the totalitarian route.

A lot like that movie Purge. Not pretty, essentially 5th generation warfare.

If other countries were already engaging us in 5th generation warfare, would it look much different than what we see now?

    Food processing plants being smoked.
    Infrastructure being damaged and destroyed.
Weak points being probed and attacked, especially power substations.
Division and distrust being sewn on social media.
Protests being inflamed by paid outside agitators.
    Drug availability and lethality increasing.
Foreign military aged men flooding the country.

If I can't carry ( with the exception of government bldg ) I don't go!
Right on! People think that the event is more important than their personal safety. Gotta add that shopping in the mall is out, exception being food supplies from grocery store.
You can wager a solid bet that people are toting hardware and spare mags at most stores.
Not saying social isn't possible, but due dilligence is the theme these days.
Others have said to stay frosty, so true, keep your preps up too.

Before Black Friday became more of an Internet shopping event, and people would line up outside stores waiting for them to open, I always said if you gave me 50 to 100 true believers I could wreck this economy. I could bring it to a standstill in 24 hours.

All of those people that used to line up outside of Target, Best Buy, Kmart, Walmart waiting for them to open were all juicy targets and the fact that it didn't happen is surprising.

Large gatherings in this country like say the Harvest Homecoming in New Albany are such a easy target. Like the Vegas concert. Very easy. In New Albany during Harvest Homecoming streets are closed off filled with people buying stuff at booths. I've always said if you wanted to really kill people you don't have to get a firearm just steal a dump truck or a snow plow and go down Pearl Street or Market in New Albany on a Friday night or a Saturday night during Harvest Homecoming.

I think something is coming in the future I'm not going to speculate what it is. And while I am worried about my kids one of them being in Indy, they both have good heads on their shoulders, they have get home alive bags in their vehicles. I taught them to make sure that their vehicle is always filled up even if you don't think you need gas you stop and you top off. Each of them have small air pumps and tire patching kits and know how to use them. So I'm not worried about them making it home if they can get out of where they're at.

I'm just glad that I live in the country and I don't live in a city.
