Seems like there's a fair amount of prejudgment of the "rest of the story" going on.

First, let's find out what the warrant was based upon, what went on before the shooting and where everyone was when the shooting started, then go from there.
Sorry, it's just my opinion on early morning "might knock" warrants seem to be way overused especially when the individual is in a GFZ every day. But hey.... keep kicking in doors and keep getting shot. I'm sure it's fine.

The other problem is we won't GET the "rest of the story". They already will not release what the warrant was for. The dude is on life support with a gunshot to the head, all of his belongings are already in AFT custody. We aren't going to get any truth out of these traitorous bastards anyway.

No knock warrants at that time of day. How is a "reasonable and prudent" person likely to respond to that?

This is my opinion, but those are executions masquerading as a search warrant. If you know the person will likely be armed, is self defense minded what do you think their response would be? So why do it when you have alternatives? To make sure there is only one side to the story from the beginning.

Less ATF agents is a good thing regardless of the reason or context.

The entire organization has no legitimate purpose for existing other than to violate the rights of the American people, and have done so more effectively than the taliban.

I'm making an educated Scientific Wild-Ass Guess (SWAG) they were raiding him as an "unlicensed firearm dealer" . . . no FFL . . . based on a history and pattern of buying and selling arms in private sales . . . part of their new interpretation of the law about who a "firearm dealer" is based on the (thank Senator Todd Young) 2022 Safer Communities Act.

Local news reporters observed ATF et al. taking in tools to cut open locks and safes, and carting out a big pile of firearms, loading them all into a truck -- what they could view between the vehicles all parked in front of the home.

I'm also making an educated SWAG that if he survives, his immediate defense will be being awakened by a home invasion and responding to it with lethal armed force under Arkansas Castle Doctrine.

How this all plays out -- for that we will have to wait for the rest of the story.

Yeah, a no knock at that hour against a gun guy is asking for a murder. Or murders in this case.

As others have said, Wait for him to go to work and execute it there. Or pull him over.
He's away from home and his big guns.
He cant destroy evidence because he's not there to do so. Which would be one explanation for a no knock.

And by the side of the road or in his office parking lot, you dont have to worry about hurting his wife or kids.

Similar suspicion, what else does someone with that job and who lives in that kind of house get in trouble for?

Major escalation in Biden's war on gun owners if they're out here shooting people over recreational use of the classifieds.

I would guess that or unregistered NFA stuff. We'll hear about it sooner if it's the latter. A raid like this might be interpreted as overkill for dealing without license.

Only guy I remember getting charged with no license was a guy who was buying up everything he could at shows and was later found to be selling to criminals.

AFT agent shot initially by homeowner, AFT returned fire hitting the homeowner at least twice, once in the head.
OK, that’s got me in line.

Dum ***** no knocking seems to not be the smartest thing they could have done.

Headed for duck duck to check this out
