This is just a flat-out violation of a due process right to appeal. By setting the penalty so high and demanding a 100% cash bond before an appeal can be filed the POS judge is in effect trying to insulate his decision from appellate scrutiny.

Somewhere along the line higher up in the appeals circuit there needs to be someone to put a stop to this gross political judicial injustice. This kind of judicial political bull**** abuse of the system has to be thoroughly rebuffed.

I would say that neither one is significantly better nor different than the other no matter what their political seasoning is when it comes down to current policy. In that aspect if DeSantis is said to be nothing “special” then DeWine isn’t either. It's a wash.
That's always been my point. Lots of folks were talking a 19 point win like it was the modern equivalent of walking on water and somehow translated into being a political power house on the national stage (they of course should know better now)

That's why I pointed to DeWine, because he WAS nothing special but still put up a 19 point win. Later on I pointed out that some women governors from the plains beat either/both of them by almost 2 to 1 and nobody was trying to make their presidential campaigns happen

Follow the Constitution too much for your liking?

I would prefer they both stay in the Senate. No telling what they might get replaced with.
I much prefer those who interpret the law to its meaning over those who feel the Constitution hamstrings the government. I’ve ALWAYS been of the opinion that following the Constitution is doing the right thing.
    A rather odd take, IMO.

Cruz, IMO, is not of the best judgment. Cancun, Obamacare shutdown, post-election theater, etc. He has principles, but he is not my favorite. Also, giving up a Senate seat in Texas wouldn't be smart.

Mike Lee has moments, but pulling from the Senate isn’t necessary.
    I’d prefer James Comer.

That is quite literally exactly what the Constitution is. Following the Constitution means interpreting the law as written from the perspective most restrictive on the government. If something is not spelled out in the Constitution, then the Federal government has no business engaging in it. Using nebulous logic like they do with the Commerce Clause just laughs in the face of what the Constitution is meant to be.

Breaking out the popcorn for this thread. ✌

I understand how red blooded Americans vote for Trump even if you don’t love his personality. I did. Better than the other option by a wide delta; HOWEVER it does strike me as odd that he is the best person we could select in the country to represent the conservative voter.

He has guts. He endured so much garbage and still led the country with the world on his back. He has my respect for that for sure.

No one with a lick of sense wants that job with all of the baggage. No one cares enough to have their entire life run through a microscope just to be 1/3 of the power needed to move this country to the right.

What’s in it for the billionaire? That’s a lot to keep liquid, especially in a high interest rate environment. That’s a lot of risk to assume.
That’s the problem with all of this.

I doubt there are any billionaires that have half a billion liquid.

Everything is tied up in real estate and stock options.

Then there’s the under reported fact that 30 bond companies won’t take his real estate as collateral.

    This is obviously coordinated.

And 50%+ of the country is ok with it.

Because I'm sure some insane judge would call it campaign financing and hang them out to dry. And they would receive no aid or shelter by their peers, just as Trump isn't.

I would think this would be an obvious enough conclusion that someone wouldn't even raise the question.
