    UPS sucks.

I have been waiting on an order of pots and pans for over two months.

Package finally showed up....with no pots and pans in the package!

The package did have a decent firearm in it though, so I'll count it as a win.
I had a driver drop off an OBVIOUSLY empty box. As in, the 3'x12"x4" box was light as a feather, and one end was obviously open with only a strip of styrofoam that was the buffer for the actual product box that was supposed to be inside. Luckily I just happened to be walking past the front door when he dropped it off and was able to stop him before he got to his truck. So I refused the empty shipment, obviously.

What was more alarming, was that the open end of the box had one strip of clear packing tape over it. So either the box was empty from the warehouse (a possibility*) or somebody removed the product and resealed the overpack.

*I say a possibility because I think this could very well have been the last one in the warehouse, but the warehouse really didnt have any left. (inventory off by 1) So they shipped just the box hoping to file a lost package claim to still get paid for the product they didnt ship. Because when I went to reorder, there were no more in stock, and no expected replenishments.

Give it another day or two. It will likely show up.
Yep. Until it stops moving for more than 2 business days, they still know where it is. Kinda. It may have been rerouted across country, but they still know where it is so its not lost. I had that happen too. Overnighted cables from Louisville to Indy. They didnt show. They got put on a plane to LA. Of course once UPS figured it out they stopped rushing. Gee, UPS, dont ya think that I spent extra to get it here fast, that I still need it here ASAP and you should do whatever reasonable to maintain the shipping urgency until it arrives? Nooooooooo...

Instead they put it on a truck to be driven back to Indy like it was a ground ship all along without so much as a "sorry". (or refund) I had to twist the vendor's arm to refund the difference between air and ground.

Which reminds me of the 2'x3' piece of 18ga sheet metal I ordered. It totally disappeared. It got put on a truck never to be seen again. Until it showed up 18 months later. By the looks of the beat up "box", (2 sheets of cardboard taped together) it fell behind some shelves on the truck and now had tens of thousands of miles on it.

I would think the processing scan would indicate it’s still there somewhere. It might be bouncing around a trailer or something.

I had two items that came from Nevada a couple weeks ago but on different days. Both were delayed on Colorado for a day at the same location, several days apart. Not really sure what they are doing anymore.

    Meh.

I am old enough to know what is was like before the '68 bull--****.

Most often now, folks accept the continuing infringement as "normal" instead of thinking or considering how much has been given to defend what is simply a natural right.

Central state can go straight to Hell.

Of all the carriers, I've had the least problems with UPS.
Only had a problem ONCE several years ago when I ordered some magazines for a pistol I had.

The online Tracking# check said it was delivered, and the name of the person who signed for it LITERALLY sounded like some gang banger nickname.

I called UPS and told them that it was gun parts, it wasn't delivered to me, and was signed for by somebody I never heard of.

I FURTHER told them that if this isn't corrected quick, I'll report them to Alcohol Tobacco, and Firearms!

LITERALLY within a half an hour, a really sketchy, thuggish looking UPS driver showed up who was not the usual driver, with my magazines.

My first thought upon seeing this driver was wondering if he was a gang banger himself who was ripping off gun related stuff for his buddies.

I never saw this driver again in the rotation of future delivers and wondered if he was fired.

True story here. Just happened last month to me. Ordered an LEO trade in Trijicon MRO from King's Firearms. The day is was to arrive per UPS I get a call from an FFL in North Carolina. Hey, we got an MRO with your info on the receipt inside the box from King's. The label on the outside is in another's name. Are you having a firearm shipped here too? Is that why you had the red dot shipped here? (Me, very confused) I told them no and my tracking from King's shows my addy and "out for delivery" today. Then they proceeded to tell me that they were expecting a firearm from King's. Whoops.....Looks like King's put my label on the gun and the other dudes label on my optic. Ha ha. Sure enough that evening UPS drops off a Glock at my house. No signature required because it was supposed to be an optic.

Same. The only issue I've ever had with them was the fault to f the company that did the packaging. I ordered an 8 foot long piece of metal that weighed about 60 pounds. It was shipped in a cardboard tube with noting but packing tape over the ends. when it arrived, it was just the cardboard tube with nothing inside. The next day, though, the driver delivered the piece of metal.

Fedex is the worst shipper. I refuse to buy from places that only use them for shipping.

I have had more problems with FedEx than UPS, BUT the WORST for receiving packages is the USPS.
In Fishers where I used to live, and where I now live in Indy, the USPS will not get out of their truck to bring a package to my door that won't fit in my mailbox.

They'll CLAIM I wasn't home and couldn't deliver it, YET I knew it was out for delivery and will see them out my window not even get out of the truck to see if I was home.
By the time I could get out to the street they were down the road.

So then I have to go to the Post Office and wait by some window off to the side where I have to ring some doorbell, and wait til they feel like responding.

It's now a deal breaker when a vendor INSISTS on using the USPS and won't allow me to pay extra to ship is another way.

I actually ship exclusively USPS because I haven't had any problems with them in years other than package delays. It sounds like your problem is your local delivery person specifically. I have a 450 foot driveway that's a disaster if it snows at all and USPS will come down it to deliver mail. Actually, all the shipping companies will except UPS (who is smart enough to just put the package in my mailbox if it will fit). Several times a year I have to get the tow strap out and pull Amazon back up to the road.

I just got off the phone with UPS, I told them that I will report to the ATF if my package wasn't find quickly (a firearm). will see if that gets them motivated to find it.
Getting the alphabet agencies involved (or at least the threat) is likely to be beneficial. Apologies to @BigRed , but ths is one of the occasions when the ATF is on your side.

I personally wouldn't get any law enforcement entity involved in any part of my life unless it is absolutely 100% necessary.

Won a gunbroker auction several years ago and when I began to look at tracking saw that it was making its way farther west each time I checked , eventually making it all the way to LA of all places! Called the seller and they offered me a refund or sending another gun , I took the refund. Can't remember the carrier but from the sounds of it the fault was with the seller sending the gun to the wrong place.

Fedex is by far the worst! I have not received a single package that hasn't looked like it was shipped to a war zone and back before delivery.
