It seriously isn't. You don't owe loyalty other than, to God, if that's what you believe, and to your country, to your family, and to your friends. Doesn't mean you don't have a sort of comradeship with like minded individuals who support the same causes. That's what an association is. It is the people, not the leader. The NRA is not WLP. You just have this unearned loyalty to WLP as if he IS the NRA.
Nope, before all this I supported Adam Kraut and his plan to reform several things. But the left co-opted the members to destroy the organization. I hope I am wrong but I don’t ever see it being what it was. We needed an orderly transition from WLP.

    Can't argue with that.

The left made a bunch of well meaning people to burn down the one organization that was dialed in in DC. Unlike most posters here I have invested a chunk of hard earned cash I don’t want to burn down what I invested in. Mark my words here, the NRA will NEVER be what it once was, the members bought the hook line, sinker and sunk the ship.

Jeez, want to protect an investment and folks accuse you of being in on it. LOL

But, an embarrassingly large amount of the hard earned cash you paid to the NRA went in WLP's pockets for his personal use. Wouldn't you prefer that your money had gone to providing members services, educational services, or even in the legalized bribery called "lobbying?"

So if you cannot vote you cannot help those of us that want to make things better. I have followed those that were trying to get good people on the board years before this blowup…
The problem was, you had no chance of getting good people in. It seemed like WLP took his playbook from the Ds on how to hold elections.

Anecdotal can be more than one. You act like you are a marketing genius…
I have to question the wisdom of people who, but for cheap **** from China with an NRA logo on it, they would not have joined. It’s ****ing laughable and a downright insulting claim, that gun owning, pro 2A supporting individuals joined and gave money to an organization, just so that they’d get crappy, throwaway merchandise.

Now. I like hats. Send me a high quality hat with the NRA logo, especially in camo, and it wouldn’t have made any difference in my support for the NRA, but it’s swag I wouldn’t throw away.

You have no proof other than stated by enemies of the NRA.

Not sure it is fair to call Oliver North an enemy of the NRA. His inquires and statements in court were some of the first official domino in the collapse.

You can vote with 5 consecutive years of membership too. Like any association, I’d rather my support be conditional.
I have voted for years but it always has seemed pointless. The people I know and want to vote for never win, and when you try and find information about some of the (to me) unknows on the ballot, it seems impossible to find any information on them. I knew 3-4 people on this years ballot.

Fact is we just do not know for sure what happened and likely never will. Was the ”personal” use a cover for the outside the lines “lobbying” no one will talk about? We will never know the truth but people make statements like they do.

I need a little more than accusations of a NY AG that campaigned on getting the NRA but apparently a lot of gun folks do not…

He was part of a coup that I do not know which side was right and which was wrong. Was it personal or business? I don’t know, but neither does anyone else. I am not burning down the house over what we know so far.

I don't think any amount of information from any source is going to change your opinion. Christ himself could give you a sworn affidavit and you would dismiss it on the credentials of the notary.

My understanding is that if you vote for one or very few people you feel that are top notch, it has more weight than if you vote for the maximum number.

Do you have anything not from those trying to get power or those trying to destroy the organization? Is that too much to ask for? The facts from someone not benefiting from it?

Why do you so confidently believe the NY AG that campaigned on getting the NRA and those trying to get the power of the organization?

This is true. Called targeting or bullet voting. If 40 are running and we can vote for 20, we have 10 we are for, ten we are against, and 20 that are just OK, if we vote the max we give ten votes to the OK that may just defeat those we are for. So we just vote for who we are for only, eliminating the possibility that our votes will elect a just OK over our preferred.

How does that work? I'm serious.
It was always funny to me that polling work over the years found considerably more NRA members than there actually were. I always just kind of understood there were three distinct “members”. There were the lifetime/voting, general dues paying, and claimers. All were important to success.

The claimers may have been members at one point or another, maybe joined a year or so then drifted off but the NRA sent voting guides to these non paying members anyway. Why? They increased the voting power.

I hate that we squandered that power…
