Does anyone on here know whether or not Remington still proof fires all their shotguns? I just picked a new V3 up yesterday. Looking down the bore it looked like it had been fired and never oiled. There was a lot of crud around the gas ports. All internals had a heavy coating of what I can only assume was Rem Oil. All the info I’ve found on the internet is pre-bankruptcy.

I'm sure all new guns are Proof Fired before being shipped. That would be for all gun makers.
    Have a great day.

Yeah, I emailed them. It’s not a big deal. I was just curious. I wasn’t aware that all manufacturers test fire everything. I was just a little concerned that I had been sold a used gun, but told it was new. I purchased it from Guns.com. I’ve always had good experience with them so I’m sure that’s not the case. There were some wear marks inside the receiver and a superficial scratch in the cerakote on the outside of the receiver. I’ve shot it some this morning and it definitely hasn’t been broke in yet. End of the day this gun will get abused plenty in the boat, and the turkey woods!
