I've got the Arkin SH-4J 6-24x50 FFP illuminated VPR-zero stop-34mm tube , Great glass and tracking . It will give the Vortex Razor a serious run for the money ( which cost five times more ) .Both carry a lifetime warrantee . I'm sure you'll be happy with it .

I bought 4 or 5 of the SH-4 GenII 6-24x50 scopes and ran those for a bit until the EP-5 5-25x56 scopes with Japanese glass came out. Now I have 3 of the EP-5 scopes and sold the SH-4 ones off. All of their scopes punch well above their price point. I've compared them in person to Trijicon and Vortex higher end offerings. I'd put them in line with some of the better PST GenII stuff and noticeably better than anything from the competition like Athlon, Swampfox and some of the Vortex offerings. I'd recommend getting the Japanese glass for a little more money. My only real complaint on some of their lower end stuff with Chinese glass is they tend to have a tight eyebox. But, YMMV, because your own personal eyesight can factor in quite a bit on how you perceive a scope while looking through it.

The SH-4J is what I have been looking at and plan to get once my discretionary funds are repleted.

Accurateshooter thread on same; not a lot of hard data:

There is plenty of discussion on Snipers Hide, if you feel like filtering through 50 million pages of :poop:. Turns out if you find a "budget" scope that is pretty good, all the high-end fanboys will tar and feather you for liking something that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. I don't recommend Snipers Hide in general, lots of entitled rich folk on that site.

I purchased two of the Arken SH-4 on their website using a sale code.
I have one mounted on the Colt LE6920 (2014 production, OEM2 build out) and the other mounted on the Gen1 Galil Ace .308
The only issue I have is some mild Chromatic aberration but it is so minimal that it matters not. My eyes have a lot of mileage on them anyway.
Quality, clarity and cost made this a good scope purchase.

A lot of the guys shooting NRL22 at my club swear by them as the best thing at their price point (even before frequent discounts)
NRL22 is where I first heard of them. One of the better shooters was running one and I asked about it.

    I have 4 SH-4 gen 2s, 2 4-16x50 and 2 6-24x50.
    Absolutely love these scopes.
Yes, they are a bit heavy, but they are solid, the glass is great, and the tracking is perfect.
I use the 4-16s on my 308 ar and precision bolt gun and the 6-24 on my 6.5 cm ar and precision bolt gun.
All 4 have shot to 1000yds accurately and consistently.
    They are a great deal.

I actually got reward points for my two 4-16x50 scopes. I used those points to order the lens caps.
A real challenge to get the rubber boot over the lens body but they are rock solid. Yep, you are correct, the scopes did not come with lens covers but in essence they did if you take into consideration the above (reward points).
