      head shots

For what its worth I was hit three times in the torso with 7.62x39 but the one that ended my career and almost cost me my life and leg was in in the hip. You dont have to make a head shot to stop a determined attacker.

Military pensions unaffordable? Like to hear some retired vets on this

Private insurance wouldn't work. Soldiers don't get paid enough as it is, they could never afford the premiums on an insurance plan that would cover what they do. Ask any LEO who has looked into private health insurance(not connected to Dept.) its crazy expensive. Add on the risks soldiers face...

Military pensions unaffordable? Like to hear some retired vets on this

Nobody wants to see us waxing lots of civies carpet bombing our enemies on CNN. No one wants to see thousands of casualties a month like Vietnam and previous on CNN. Everyone wants us to have the capabilities to come to the rescue when what ever foreign country they happen to find themselves in...

Military pensions unaffordable? Like to hear some retired vets on this

I also paid into my pension fund for 20, does that mean im an entrepreneur? In all seriousness we earn our pensions, by the time I hit my retirement the only thing holding my body together is band-aids, bubble gum and positive thinking. I gave my body my youth and more than a few of my friends...

      One Man Army

Most SF guys have their Ranger tabs. Ive known some team Sgts that require it. That being said some of the best operators I know dont have a Ranger tab. For the record a member of the armed forces that has attended and graduated Ranger school is Ranger qualified, an Army Ranger is a Ranger...

Thanks Doug. Yes you are further down the evolutionary chain, a "grease monkey" is a type of primate. Me and my opposable thumbs are capable of operating complicated equipment like the selector switch or even more importantly an xbox controller. So with all due humbleness HA HA SUCK IT MONKEY...

Train as you fight, and I ALWAYS spin when I fight! Thats why when the rest of my team went to mid-south I went to Julliard.

U.S. official: More than two dozen U.S. deaths in Afghan copter crash

Its unfortunate not necessarily reckless. You cant really plan for every possibility. In my experience if the initial QRF proves to not be adequate for the task at hand every swinging dick will be on the first thing available to take them where their comrades need them.(no info on if this is the...
