Thanks Todd Young, the BS Communities Act (which changed the definition of "engaged in the business" to "doesn't lose money on the sales") strikes again.

Old definition: Included "for primary livelihood" or something like that. This guy made $250-$270K/year as an airport director. This is a hobby for a guy like this since if he CLEARS $250/gun and sells 150/year that's $37,500. Subtract cost per table, fuel costs, etc.

    Yeah, thanks Todd Young.

Just because he was making $250.00+ a year doesn't mean he wasn't living like he earned $350,000

    Looks like he has died.

We had a customer at the shop I worked at that bought 2-3 guns a week, but only owned 1!, he was nuttier than squirrel turds!

He would buy one, take it home, play with it, then trade it off to another shop, or sell it to another person (at a loss!) or would bring it back to us and trade it in on another gun!…the record was 5…he bought the same Glock 26 from us 5 times!, when we faxed off the multiple sales form to the atf they called and said you made a mistake and listed the same gun twice, we replied no, he bought it twice this week!, the employees who worked there always carried cash to buy from him!

One time I was looking at a used Glock 19c, he said “how much is it?” I replied “I’m buying it!” He says “I see, cherry picking the good guns!”…to which I replied “if you wanted it, you shouldn’t have traded it to us!”…he said “I didn’t own that gun!”…I took him to the computer and pulled up the serial number and who we acquired it from, he said “oh…I don’t remember that one”

But he was visited by the atf a couple of times, the agents would get a call from Washington and be told to go talk to him and make sure he wasn’t dealing or straw purchasing them, after a couple of inspections, when they’d call the agents they’d say “we’re not going, he’s not a dealer!”

His initials weren’t DC were they? This guy would make a trade and call back on the way home wanting to trade for something else. He was a good guy but had the fever!

No, translation: he had a 250,000 salary on the table, and made 100,000 under the table.
Don't know what his wife did, she might have brought even more to the table. $100K flippin guns is flippin a whole lotta guns. That's on top of the probably 50-55 hours/week at his airport gig... and the time spent driving around bad neighborhoods in the company vehicle. Not that the surveillance observed him doing anything illegal or even suspicious while driving through the bad neighborhoods. Oh yeah, drove recklessly... like everyone else in Little Rock.
