Rt 6 from Lake Park/Grand Blvd to I believe the bridge past Michigan st is going to be messed up for a few weeks. Finally getting paved. Only been needing it for 5+ years

"Do me a favor and don’t complain about this project. We have been working on this for years.

    Ridge Rd/37th Ave Paving Project
Ridge Rd/37th Ave Paving Project will begin Monday, November 13th, 2023 at 6am. The contractor will be starting on the outside (right) lanes and will have all of the intersections on the north and south side of the road closed during that portion of the construction project. The detour route will be to take Tyler St to Lake Park Ave to Ridge Rd. When coming into town from Ridge Rd, you will want to take Ridge Rd to Lake Park Ave to Tyler St.
New Chicago, Lake Station, and Hobart emergency services have all been notified of these closures to ensure that they take the appropriate routes to get to and from New Chicago as required.
The total expected length of time for the project is two weeks. The project scope is the repaving all lanes of Ridge Rd and also the replacement of ADA ramps at intersections that currently have them. All time frames for the project are weather dependent.
For more information, please contact the New Chicago Town Hall or the council person for your ward."

Can't believe jedi has to talk about car stuff. :puke:

jedi needs to lift a 2015 dodge grand caravan to do some tire rotations, oil change and transmission pan cleaning.

Online reading says 3 ton floor jack and 3 ton jack stands should work.

Any brand to avoid? Brand to get?

So, so dislike getting UNDER a vehicle.

Are you sure you need THREE ton jacks?

That seems kinda high to me.

I've got two jacks rated for TWO tons if you need to borrow them.
I can check with dad, I think he's got 4. But I don't know the rating.

No need to buy them, if you can borrow them.
Not like they get used everyday, except for the mechanics here.

Since I have a poker game scheduled for next weekend and the chairs are already out, might as well start setting up.

I have the same exact vehicle, but it is a CV 1500, set up for cargo. I love it

I have never had to use more than 2 ton stands. You can borrow mine. I also have a pair of ramps that you can have.

Do not buy harbor freight stands, they carry others which are fine for occasional use, just don’t buy the house brand. 3ton stands are the best option, good footprint for stability, and like most Chinese stuff it’s not up to 3 tons anyway, not safely at least.
