All this s*** needs to be utterly rescinded and refunded to the people. Those are servants of we the people, not our masters or our Lords. They deserve no protection that any one of us does not receive; and they should certainly feel at risk when they violate the constitution.

I would think that an air launched attack from over Russian territory severely limits the attack vector and negates the 'maneuvering' part of the missile's description of capabilities. Given that its peak speed is about 540m/s and the claimed 930 km range and time of flight to max range is only about 29 minutes. While a head on intercept of something hypersonic is impressive, I'd prefer the Patriot be effective against a hypersonic suborbital glide vehicle

When it comes to ballistic missile defense THAAD and the SM-6 are much more effective than Patriot. Although we haven’t got to see those newer systems used in wartime conditions.

That could be a good thing as far as leaving the enemy in doubt of their full capabilities

As long as they come closer to fulfilling their hype than the F35 does

You mean the radio had vacuum tubes, it only carried four missiles/had no gun, and 3 Gs would rip the wings off??
The metallurgy wa such that a full bore run would overtemp the engines, but the vacuum tube radar was thought to be capable of delivering high enough power to burn through the jamming of the day. The use of tubes was a feature not a bug

Yes, I've seen articles about this and another supposed Chinese bad ass hyper sonic missile and wondered if like the Mig-25 they were not built for some specific purpose, now gone or greatly diminished. The Mig-25 was built to intercept the XB-70, with rocket speed running in a straight line, it needed powerful, but unsophisticated radar and missiles that could do the job once it closed the distance. With the big change from high altitude and high speed to low level attacks the MIG-25 became a program looking for a purpose.

This certainly didn't stop western intelligence from evaluating it as a fighter and with news reports of one clocked over Israel at Mach 3.2 I remember seeing the media stories demeaning the USAF for being so far behind. Of course this all changed in 1976 when Belenko defected with one and after evaluation it became apparent that it was never intended to be a fighter.

Maybe the vaunted hyper sonic missles are a similar story.
