No was it a requirement well no but we prefer you sign in on line, Did you want to use our app to sign In? Me no ok sit down and someone will be with you shortly. About 5 minutes later creeps me out guy comes up front. Can I help you by this time I have lost all patience. Me no I just recalled why I have I have had my wife cut my hair for the past 3 years.

Is it just me is the service industry now a lack of service endeavor?

Yeah I went to one by me 3 times in the last 3 years. First 2 times they were just rude. Last time they pulled the sign in online thing. No. Just no. . I’m not downloading an app to get haircuts at a haircut chain, they’re like the Wendy’s of hair cuts, not the cheapest but nothing amazing.
I’m not looking at a menu by scanning a barcode.
I apparently need an app to get sales at Kroger now too?
I know I’m getting old when this sets me off. Sorry, rant over. Thank you for your time. Lol

I equate them to a little Caesar’s pizza nothing special just basic Pizza.

I do not think a lot of people understand that data mining that gets included in apps for this that and the other thing.

At first I thought it was just me but that does not seem to be the case.

I’m getting sick of all the places that want you to install their app. I’m considering buying a cheap burner phone just to install those various apps on and only use it for those, nothing else. I also despise having to give them information for a login. If all they need is an email address I will use a throwaway email.

Yeah, everything at Kroger is going away from the Kroger card and moving over to digital coupons needing the app.

I need to learn how to become a farmer.

I actually like the GC app. I check in and I'm at the front of the line when I get there. And the app makes it easy to find a shop when I'm traveling and need a cut.

As to the privacy? Ooh. they know my haircut and how often I get it cut. Oh the humanity. I think the angle here is loyalty over privacy. If you have their app and can "cut" in line ahead of the technophobes, you arent going to supercuts or sport clips or your neighborhood barber where you have to wait in line at those places.

Though I do have a minor beef with them. They dont keep everyone in your party together. One time I checked myself and my son in. We get there and we are 3rd/4th in line behind two other online check ins that hadnt arrived yet. So they cut my son's hair, and while he is in the chair, the other two guys ahead of us come in. So we had to sit through two other customers before I got mine cut. Yeah, I know, first world problems. Now its totally not an issue because the boy is now 16 and towers over me. So I no longer have to entertain him like I used to. But it was kinda annoying in the moment that I couldnt follow him into the free chair and be in and out together. Kinda defeated the point of the online checkin as a pair.

Funny story. We went to another salon in a nearby suburb that we normally dont go to, but it was handy for our errands that day. So the computer systems arent national; the customer databases are not shared between franchises. So we have to give them our info when we check in. stylist A mistypes my teenagers name. When he gets in the chair Stylist B asks "Copper, what are we doing today." He starts to correct her, but she got called away by somebody coming in and she checked them in. She comes back and calls him Copper again. I dont recall why, but he didnt feel comfy correcting her this time. Something about how it was too long. Anyway... I started giving him a hard time about them screwing up his name on the way to the car. "Dad, we can never come here again. EVER. " :lmfao:(this is the second time in his life... the first was my 2nd cousin while she was in town visiting for Thanksgiving dinner when he was a few months old. "Interesting. So what made you choose the name Copper?" Uhhhhhh We didnt? apparently my aunt wrote his name wrong in a letter to her)

Though the app does have a downside. I kinda ticked off the lady next door last week by using it. I check in from my office and drive across town to the salon. I walk in and she is sitting there waiting. I look and I'm 2 people ahead of her on the list, and am taken back within 2 minutes of my arrival. I get out of the chair and she is still waiting. I think she was a bit annoyed that I "cut" in line.

I like going to an old dude barbershop. I've earned it. Semi-retired now and enjoy reading the Guns and Ammo, hotrod and new car rags. Not in a hurry. Don't really give a flip about some woman wanting a haircut where I get my ears lowered. They are generally Chatty Cathys or gossip ho's anyhoo. Nope. Just nope.

You get what you pay for. You're not going to get good service at a place that only charges $6.99 for a hair cut.

They need the app to save info about your hair cut so they can have it for the new girl who is there the next time you come in. Because no one works at a Great Clips for more than about 15 minutes.

Friends don't let friends get hair cuts at Great Clips.

I way overpay for my every three week haircut, beard trim & shave. It is an indulgence. The hot towel, razor cleanup, and the shop just partnered with another business and now has a bar. Sipping an old fashion with top shelf bourbon while staring at the Ohio River is pretty nice.

    My "haircut experience" sounds better.

A few years ago, we were in the pool, having a few drinks and my wife says “I need to cut your hair, it’s getting out of control”, so she went in and got her haircut stuff and I sat in a chair on the deck. Long story short, I still have a quarter inch scar above my right eye where she got me with the scissors! Apparently having a couple margaritas and cutting someones hair isn’t in her wheelhouse?

I like the GC app as well. It's good to get in without waiting, and they see on the computer how I want it cut. I've never had bad service there and all of the ladies are friendly and (mostly) do a fine job.
