Just getting ready to settle in with Indiana as the new home base. Bloomington as the town, but not for the views of the population, Daughter works at Crane and I help with things around the house. I have a small reloading room 15' x 25' and am a cast member on the you tube channel The Reloading Podcast. Former P-dog hunter/shooter, with many trips to South Dakota. Working on a few new guns, #1 a switch barrel 22BR/6MMBR, rebarreling a 22-250 and building a 10/22 into a NRL22 gun.

    In the country, hopefully.
    Welcome!
What do you consider the best round, and gun, for prairie dog hunting?

ETA Maybe the answers too long for a welcome post, we can take it somewhere else if you think it’s better.

    This is GREAT!
We have now gained several new members in just the past week that not only seem to be very well versed in the firearms genre, but they didn't introduce themselves with, "Why can't I buy a gun here today? I see one I like and I have the money..."
Glad to see some joining in to participate, and not just looking for a sweet deal.
    Welcome to Ingo.

Welcome Paul, happy to have you.. Sounds like you will be a good addition to the INGO crew. You might want to think about brushing up on a little self defense handgun training living there in Blommingcrazyton.
PS.. I'll wager there are some older farts than you around here.

Now days with heavy shooting pressure on p-dogs look at the 6mm's like BRA, 6XC, 6 creedmoor and the 6BR. Heavy 22's as the 22 creedmoor, and the 22-250 fast twist 1/8 or 1/7. There are a whole bunch of new custom actions that are under $1000.00 and barrels from Bartlien, Brux, and Other cut rifle barrel makers.

I have a few 1911's /2011's none of those Austrians Staple guns tho! Wait does a S&W M&P 9C count as a staple gun?
    22 Creedmoor you say...?
Yes a 22 Needsmoor just because you can shoot a heavy bullet with it.

I just googled it, and now I'm intrigued.
So, starting out here as an enabler, huh?
    Welcome home.

That sounds expensive, I wouldn’t have dreamed of taking my 6mm Creedmoor.
Have a 223 bull barrel Savage that I’ve used before, looking for a gun for my son and was trying to decide between 22-250 and 223.

I’ll have to get this 6mm dialed in.

Private ground though, and not much pressure.
