From what I have been able to piece together from a press conference is that there were two incidents back in 2019 where the cops were called. The first one was he was threatening to commit suicide and the other one I believe was because he was threatening to kill family members with a knife.

At that time, he didn't have an FOID and he didn't possess any firearms. They confiscated his knives, and no arrests were made. Now apparently sometime after that he obtained an FOID card and purchased several firearms.

Yep, first incident was handled by mental health individuals (hipa) and second no one in the family wanted to make a report or press charges. Nothing for police to take action on. (family). In 2019 no FOID nothing to act on.
