I recently saw a letter to the ATF signed by 20 senators, including our own Mike Braun, demanding they answer for their actions, and allow the public to see the rules that the ATF expects us to live by.

Our other senator happily signs gun regulation as part of the recent omnibus spending package. Since nobody else is on the ballot to challenge Young, is there any way to stop this establishment Rino from assisting in the infringement of our rights?

I've always figured that when legislators go to dc and are exposed to the massive amount of lobby money that flows through there, it changes them. How much probably depends on the individual, but I would say it affects everybody to some degree.

There are others who are productive. Victoria Spartz seems to be good, but we have to see what happens after a term or two.
If you can get your name on the ballot, I would definitely vote for average freedom loving Bob over 99% of all politicians in congress, with the possible exception of Lauren Boebert and the definite exception of Rand Paul. I didn't know much about LB until I heard her on the Tim Pool podcast, and I love how she refuses to play politics by the unspoken rules.

We cannot get Bob on the ballot
    1. A candidate must file a declaration of candidacy and nomination petition with the Indiana Election Division in person or by mail by noon 88 days prior to the primary election.[6]
    2. The declaration of candidacy must be accompanied by a nomination petition. This petition must contain at least 4,500 signatures, including a minimum of 500 signatures from each of the state's congressional districts. Before being filed with the Indiana Election Division, petition signatures must be certified by county voter registration officials.[6]
    Write in is possible.

A write-in candidate seeking the offices of United States Senator or United States Representative must do the following:[4][11]

    1. A candidate must file a declaration of intent with the Indiana Election Division by noon (Indianapolis time) on July 3 in the year of the election.
If we can get enough people behind someone, and get the word out, we might be able to make a difference. Is there a way to start a poll so this forum can select our avatar?
From there, we can print business cards, so we can all go out and give them out to everyone we know who may support.
We have reps in every district, and on an off season primary election, a few thousand votes may be able to pick up a general nomination. WE CAN DO THIS!

You say that, but do you really mean it?

I mean, if they dragged every skeleton out of my closet, lined up dozens of people to tell you what a bad person I am, with or without proof, showed you all of my criminal records, even the ones that are sealed, and I said "I will not vote for gun control in any form, no matter what bill it is attached to. The only gun law we need is the Second Amendment", would you vote for me?

Presume that I have never committed a crime against a woman or a child. Also, presume I don't care much either way about abortion, civil rights, immigration, taxes, military spending, entitlement spending, criminal justice, religion, climate change, or the war on drugs. I'm just going to vote for liberty in every case, whether you agree or not, but I will fight against new gun laws and fight to repeal every old one, and make deals with devils to accomplish that.

You ok with that? If you are, do you think you can find enough people like that to pass it through 435 people like that, then 100 people like that, then 1 person like that?

There aren't enough people like that in charge. There will never be.

I'm not picking on you Ashton, I'm commenting on the sentiment I've seen on a few other boards, and from people I know. They are all pro-Second Amendment, until I ask, If there was a bill that would repeal GCA 1968, no more FFLS or 4473s, but would allow abortions up to the 7th month of pregnancy, would you support it?

Suddenly, people lose their resolve (if not their minds).

I would vote to pass such a bill. Regardless of if I was a representative or senator, and I would sign it into law if I was president.

Curious. What is your logic behind the poison pill at the end of your statement? What does one have to do with the other?

Just trying to wrap my head around your intent without assuming.

So called republicans in Indiana are a sad bunch. Eric Holcomb and Todd Young are NOT constitutionalists- neither the U.S constitution nor the Indiana constitution. They both need to go! Mike Braun is still not proven to me. Remember he introduced a bill in the senate trying remove liability protection for police officers doing their jobs. He later retracted it but he was obviously tone deaf. This was during the time of all the politicians calling for defunding the police.

My intent is to provoke thought about what liberty is. I hope that everyone here wants freedom from the chains of government gun laws in the name of liberty, but I'm also wondering about how much liberty they're willing to give others.

I specifically picked the abortion issue, because for some, it's just as inflammatory as the Second Amendment issue.

I'm just asking the question, how much freedom to people want, versus how much freedom do they want to give?

Liberty for the things YOU believe, or liberty for EVERYONE in the things you believe?

I believe combination bills are problematic, and I hear the irony of Indiana using one to get constitutional carry. I would not support such a bill on principal, since I believe that the role of liberty is to protect innocents in society, and that isn't accomplished by legalizing their murder until a certain age. At the same time, with the current situation with laws in the country, I would think that a law limiting abortions in all states to 7 months is an improvement.

Liberty and freedom from tyranny. Abortion (IMO) is unique because there are multiple individuals involved. If there is a question on the legality of child abuse, and the argument is that the child is the responsibility of the parent, therefore the parent can beat/maim their own property, I imagine there would be a consensus for the freedom of the child, rather than the right to inflict harm to another.
