Crazy thought…. Could we be seeing a rope-a-dope with their actions? Appearing to be inept but dangerous enough to drag NATO and the US into a ground conflict then unleash their actual might, destroying the most effective forces there? Their subs could keep our forces pinned to North America and we just don’t have the airlift capacity to move enough troops and materials across the pond, especially with an active Sam sites in the area. Those big c-17’s make a very large target.

    Highly doubt it.

Russia might show off fancy weapons here and there, but when you look at manufacturing for them, they make a handful and then the project falls through the cracks.

They'd be steam rolled by NATO forces. Especially in the air.

Have you seen our military leaders lately?
I'd agree with you more, if it was a toe nail painting contest.

When you have that large of a technical advantage, and that much manufacturing behind it, the person starts to matter a lot less.

Never mind that we have a massive number of combat veterans in service.

    Not really.
We have a lot of combat veterans, as veterans.
The amount of active duty is not so big.

Also, tech advantage is important, to a point.

Sadly all of our military "leaders" should have a notebook in hand and be writing out new defensive/offensive strategies on what they are observing happen with Russia/Ukraine. A real live military event to observe that you don't get during exercises or military school. Instead our "leaders" are distracted with Woke B/S instead of doing their F'g jobs.

So there's this 40 mile long Russian convoy that's supposedly out of fuel and food that's just camping out in the Ukrainian countryside.

I take that to mean Russia has 100% control of the airspace. I also have to assume Ukrainian artillery ain't nothin to write home about.

For a country of that size, with a not so small military I kinda expected more. Even with a handful of drones they could make Saddam's Highway of Death look like the Yellow Brick Road.

    Awfully tempting, maybe it's bait.

Kind of difficult to fight literally the entire world when your manufacturing has been bombed out and you can't get raw materials.
At the beginning of the war, their factories were not bombed, and they had tech superiority, and strategic superiority.

    Yet they lost.

The thing is, tech is important.
But, many times in history, a numerically technologically superior force was defeated.
It is not a forgone conclusion.

I'm wondering how long it's going to take before Xi wakes up to the fact that he's best buds with the worlds most hated man since Hitler. That got to make it hard to peddle chinese manufactured goods in the future.

Once America entered the war full on, it was just a matter of time.
