My how things have changed since Cortez the Killer.

I like and respect the younger Young more than I do the current Young. I hope he finds his way.

sad part is, a lot of younger folk such as myself who didn't know of him, now do.... I am not about to give him//he any attention, but I'm sure there are those who will hail him as a hero. I bet his audience and listeners/month will grow significantly. Either way, he won...

My assumption is, unless proven otherwise, that's why these people insert themselves into whatever controversy they can. It's free publicity. There's zero chance Young is in the news cycle without this.

Neil Young is still on Spotify. I wonder how many useful idiots think he’s not. I get the sense that the media is making a lot more of musicians leaving the platform than there is, to try to pressure Spotify to break its contract with Rogan.

Spotify is in a bad position now. Damned if they remove Rogan and damned if they don’t. If they continue with Joe Rogan there’s the risk of actual popular musicians leaving, I mean for real, not just hasbeens fake leaving. But. It’s driven stock prices down. Contrast that with removing Rogan and the ****-storm lawsuit for breach of contract that would ensue.

No real artists of import have actually left. The stock has rebounded of late and Spotify will probably be okay unless some really big artist does actually leave the platform.

So it looks to me like the media are trying to portray that Spotify stands more to lose from many artists pulling their music than from the lawsuit that would surely come, and the bazillions of people leaving Spotify and forgetting it exists. I didn’t even know there was a Spotify, much less what it even was, until they announced the deal with Rogan. So to me it seems more like a ruse to apply fake pressure.

Spotify deserves all the issues they're dealing with.
They chose these lefties as business bedfellows (including Rogan), and now they get to deal with it.
Not a fan of Rogan and less of a fan of these washed up, socialist, virtue signaling hippies. I personally don't care who wins this pointless pissing match, just as long as all involved inflict as much damage possible to one another.
Let the left eat the left.

Seems to me, Spotify's stocks are up.
They came down some a day or two ago, but still higher than a week ago

Pretty much how I look at it. If the stock isn't tanking it is only a media driven issue, not a real issue for the company itself. They probably like the publicity as well.

From Spotify and Rogan's end, it's a delicate balance between caving to the woke and standing their ground.

They are in the numbers of viewers biz. Can't afford to fully take a side, lest risk a never-Spotify social media social media campain.

Actors, singers, liberal news media "influencers" and basement dwellers are all the same. Similar to BLM or ANTIFA, you can't just ignore them or they'll run you out of business with bad press.

I've never been on Spotify, so any results will go unnoticed by me. :)

I used their free service for awhile, but use Amazon Music now. I've never listened to Joe Rogan, and very few podcasts at all. I tried to find some that were interesting to listen to while walking but had trouble finding any that held my attention.

Ah okay. I've never listened to a podcast before. About the only time I listen to music is in the car (radio).

I have 11 songs on spotify, but I’ve never actually logged on to listen to anything, I prefer Amazon music for when I want to be a listener. Spotify has a really nice artist account, probably the best of any of the streaming services. And I won’t be pulling any of my stuff from there, I need the .0000000623988th of a cent they pay per stream for my retirement.
