It does not appear to me science was ever in the calculations after the first few weeks.

    This is purely political...

Considering the whole basis for the masking and lockdowns generated from a 14-year-old’s science fair project, using daddy’s Sandia Labs computer modeling...

I was at a nice restaurant with my wife.

They had different staff for bringing water, taking food off the table, packing up your leftovers… all on top of the server.

Someone came up to pack up our leftovers and I glanced up from my conversation and said “Thank you sir!”

Then I realized it was a woman. Couldn’t tell because they were wearing a mask.

Then she said, “Did you just assume my gender twice?!?”

Ok the last part didn’t happen lol.

Could have been more random I guess. They could have pulled 6' from a roll of the dice.

I'm actually disappointed that social distancing didn't even win 1st place, given that it's now policy all over the world.

The gardener is part time caretaker for her 90+ year old mom, and wears a mask when she goes out. Today she asked if that bothered me at all. I said that it's probably easier to find people unhappy if they think you should wear a mask when you aren't then the other way around.

What's more peculiar is that it's six feet in the United States.
    In Canada, it's 2 meters.
In most of the EU it's 1.5 meters.
    WHO recommended 3 feet.

It appears the virus adheres to the dominant system of measurement and convenient numbers.
    Go figure.
But then again, now we know it is nocturnal in some countries/localities, avoids tables at restaurants, but infects the rest of the building, and is especially dangerous at the bar.
    Very considerate virus.

What is really grating on my nerves is the faux moral concern trolling. How when the topic is Pelosi, Biden, Harris et al endeavoring to lead us into marxism/authoritarianism, and rank and file Democrats competing to carry their sedan chairs, that some feel the need to opine that 'You know, not all Republicans are blameless' or 'You know, not all Democrats are on board with this'.

The only thing I can see such contributing to the discussion of the moment is a release of endorphins for the poster, who can feel good about him-/her-/itself and be lulled back to inertia

Personally, I feel sure they will hold our jackets for us when we have to take care of this mess - supposing that we can
You are misinterpreting condemnation of all for justification of some

It's still worth saying not all Republicans are bad. They're not all c-o-c ********ers. Calling out that individuality rather than lumping them into one group is of use. They're not all bad.
That wasn't what was happening, though. The topic of discussion was the horrible things that Democrats are supporting or tolerating, and one of the Triangle Club felt it necessary to dog the Republicans - some kind of weird equal time impulse, I guess

As I surmise, I think it gives them some kind of endorphin hit to so speak up under circumstances of exactly zero risk to themselves. Seems akin to spanking it
