Probably because Crump actually offers a legitimate service. You don't have to like the guy, hell even I think the guy is slimey, but what you do have to do is recognize, is that he is effective.
As a society, we have done away with ethics and replaced it with legal/illegal. It’s a slippery slope, as you cannot legislate morality.

This is what's so scary. This would be an incredibly difficult situation for a highly motivated, fully funded, old school police force to gain control of. With the city leadership kneecapping them at every turn and pouring tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money into this...insurgency, the work can't even start. The fire crews can't even start putting out the fire.

The potential is here for a far worse situation than Portland or Seattle's little insurgent zones...and it's in Minneapolis, not some notoriously kooky craphole city on the coast. This could happen in Indy. You bet your ass the same activists that engineered this in Minneapolis are shopping around for other cities with woke council members who can be grifted.
Very insightful post. I believe you are right. Off the top of my head, the quad cities, Benton Harbor, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Gary/E. Chicago, South Bend, St Louis greater metro come to mind as being vulnerable.

I suppose you would also argue that pirates are honorable businessmen?

My problem with Crump is not his representing his clients... it's the blatant lies he puts out into the media that inflames the community to riots, in order to up the payout.

Exhibit A: Hardly a thing he said about the Jacob Blake shooting was true. Honestly, if Crump is saying it, it's more likely than not a lie.

His entire livelihood depends upon things being in a constant state of unrest. Same as Jackson and Sharpton. Why would they do anything to undermine their livelihoods?

Jury is almost seated, 13 of 15-16 are selected. And, judge will allow some evidence from Floyd's 2019 arrest... he swallowed drugs when confronted by police in that arrest.

The judge handed the defense a victory by ruling that the jury can hear evidence from Floyd’s 2019 arrest, but only information possibly pertaining to the cause of his death in 2020. He acknowledged several similarities between the two encounters, including that Floyd swallowed drugs after police confronted him.

Oh. He said some pretty inciting and untrue comments on the Breonna Taylor shooting too. But I guess hiring a lying ********** that gets you rich is better than hiring an honest person to represent, and maybe get nothing.

I'd throw poop at the judge to get myself excused from that jury. A televised circus trial and jurors actually drawn from that local community? I'd be terrified to be on that jury, they're the new target for these violent activists. Holding the trial at home means they're much more likely to convict solely out of fear of being killed or their homes being torched. God help any juror who stands their ground and refuses to convict.

They can change venue for a more fair trial. They have chosen not to.

That tells you everything you need to know about that trial.
Because this local jury can be bullied with threats on their lives (and their families) to deliver a guilty verdict to match the ankle grabbing city paying out lottery money to a drug victims family.
