These threads always end up with some members from "da region" being upset that the rest of the state wants to pawn them off on Chicago.

    Good natured ribbing, lol.
These suggestions are just a fun wish list of items right? Heaven forbid “Americans” support the forced relocation and confinement of other American citizens.
    Clutch those pearls tight.

The problem is that progressives would not be able to leave the new "free states" alone. They are like a cancer or the Borg. They must control everything.
Right, that's called "reunification" like: Vietnam. S Korea and Taiwan represent a failure of force of arms

    The “umbilical cords” that operate at 765kV, 500kV (AC or DC), 345kV, 287kV . . .
This isn't the secession thread. I was speaking of political connections not a national electrical grid or highways.
But if it comes to that, being able to regulate delivery of power to them could have political/strategic advantages

Why not? It could a mashup of Escape from NY/Hungergames/The Purge all rolled up into one.

Or as they call it in Illinois, "Weekend in Chicago".

Here’s the thing, if such a thing were ever to occur, then I suspect that the rural places will start to develop their own little liberal enclaves. You’re going to need to nurture a collective economy and have financial hubs, those places are going to be busy, and quickly develop into urban areas... and then your back a square one. Now granted if your intention is simply to prolong the inevitable by 50-100 years, then it ain’t that bad a plan.

I would not want to see Indiana combined with any other states. This thread is simply an exercise in exploring absurd ideas regarding the current state of change in our country.

Unless you are talking about getting rid of the Northern half of Lake county. Then I'm all for it.

Never mind that the left are actually ILLIBERAL socialists and neo-marxists, why is it that being liberal and urban are mutually inclusive? Why is that inevitable?
Anyway, the real "square one" isn't "liberal vs conservative", it's "intolerance vs liberty and the rule of law". If the left wasn't waging a culture-war via censorship, "cancel culture", and the courts when they can't pass unconstitutional laws, we wouldn't be having this conversation

My opinion, is that urban areas attract a wide variety of people. So people regularly come into contact with people from different nationalities, religions, races, economic backgrounds, educational backgrounds, regions, and so forth. So they tend to be a bit more worldly and tolerant of views differing from their own. I think a combination of those factors trends someone liberal.

If Weld got to jump to Wyoming, Moffet county would be close behind.

Summit and Park County would probably declare themselves sovereign at that point. The world's laws don't really apply in the high country and the folks up there know it.

Wouldn't it be better if the awesome flat part of indiana joined up with the super cool flat part of Illinois and the dirty hillbillies from the southern parts of both states had to somehow make a state and survive on their own? I think that would be the way to go.
Indiana has flat parts? (lived in Oklahoma for many years, you don't know flat until you've been out there)

There is something to that. On the other hand, a lot of "good ole boys" have been around the world in uniform. Besides, being worldly and tolerant has a lot to do with self awareness and knowing that you don't know what you don't know. Some of the most arrogant, intolerant, people I've met are NYer's and parisians.

A clarification of terms might be in order too. The "left" are not liberal. They've even abandoned the term in favor of "progressive" since they bastardized "liberal" so badly that it started to poll badly

I was actually called a barbaric cave dweller not long ago. By a dip **** in skinny jeans, black fingernail polish, under eye shadow and a bun on top of his skinny head.
My reaction surprised even me. I let him walk away under his own power. Its a waste of energy to even attempt to confront these human turd sticks.
Personally I'd have thanked him for noticing! I go to great lengths to maintain my barbaric, cave dwelling ways and it's nice to know it's appreciated! :patriot:

H***, I would have been pleased with an opinion of me like that, from such an emasculated POS as you describe.

It was more the situation that was in play and how the little twitch said it as if he was safe from being reduced to a pile of waste. Phone in hand. The ultimate force shield.....:lmfao:
