I’ve been *Jonesin’* for a .22 pump action for sometime now, and with a lot of the Covid restrictions removed,
gun shows are starting to make a come back.
This mornings “O’dark thirty” departure lead me to the Woodstock IL gun show for a “look/see”.
Eh??? not really much to report or see......
So......as I started to head back home, my next intention was to hit as many guns stores I could, seeing what’s out there new or used.
Last gun store on my route just so happen to have 3 new .22 pump Henry’s.
    1 .22 mag pump and 2 .22LR pump.
I grabbed one of the .22LR rifles which also shoots *shorts n longs”.
‘Cuz of Illinois silly Laws, I won’t be able to take possession till Wednesday.
Looking forward to shooting outside when the weather warms some.

I think henrys are better looking than the ROSSI pump I bought. It was what I was looking for, a less expensive short barreled 22 that I could creep thru the woods with and not worry about it getting banged up going thru hvy brush/brambles , it was synthetic stock, because at the time shelfs/racks were empty and dont think rossi made wood stocks for the rifle.Henrys do seem to have a better fit/finish to them, and made in america.I ended up selling to a friend that wanted a low cost shed rifle he could keep in shed.I got lucky and bought a henry lever action 22. classic.

Does the Henry pump slam fire like my Rossi and the Win 62A do? Not a great technique for sharpshooting but it’s sure fun when you’re plumb with ammo.

Actually tried to hunt down an *older* model wooden stock Rossi.
(Located one in Wisconsin but was way too pricey)
I also didnt care much for the newer wooden or synthetic models.
Yeah I'm a Henry Fan, I too have a lever,... GoldenBoy model

I have a Winchester model 61 pump with a Weaver 4X scope handed down from my Step father so not for sale. Sweet gun and very accurate, fun to shoot. Jim.

I get into the old Remington, Winchester, Mossberg and even 'Hardware guns' in the pumps. The last patent Mr Savage made before selling was a pump .22

    Woodstock, IL, you say?

What a neat little town. Used to have in-laws that lived across the road from Emricson Park.

Such a gorgeous area. Absolutely stunningly gorgeous, IMO. Good ol' prairie land.

    A) too bad the winters suck and B) too bad that it's in damned Illinois.

I got an email from rural king within the last week or so about a taurus or rossi pump. They had wood and plastic stocks, and, while I'm almost always partial to wood, the plastic stocks didn't look half bad.
    Yep, thanks, I did too.
The few I found locally were the *black resin models* which I felt looked horrible n cheap.
Visited RK in Plano last weekend and they were out of that model/gun in wood.
Purchasing on line would have had me make several trips to buy n pickup because of Illinois' stupid 3 day wait Law.
47 mile one way trip for me *buy* fill out paper work, drive home then drive there 3 days later again, to pickup and of course drive back home.
Lotta driving just to buy a gun.

I'm a big Henry fan and I actually did not know they made a pump action .22. What a cool little gun.

Sadly I am a little too young and from a little too liberal of a family to remember the days where every kid was running around the woods with a hardware store pump .22.

Before my time, too. We mostly had model 60s or 10/22s.
