Not sure totally political or not...
I am not kidding, 7 days to get something delivered from California to my house via the United States Postal Service.
7 days to get a kukri I ordered from Nepal to get to my house via DHL.

I've had USPS mailed letters get from here to Kansas in 3 business days.
I've had Christmas cards mailed to me from Michigan recently, take 4 days shy of a MONTH to arrive.

Some people see the current state of USPS as the result of intentional disruptions caused by a Republican administration that saw mail-in voting as a threat. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/aug/13/donald-trump-usps-post-office-election-funding (I did check to make sure this was in the political discussion area before saying this part.)

But there is also that mail is often carried across the country in the cargo areas of commercial flights. With flight numbers down and package numbers up, there's bound to be some disruption.

The elections been over for two months but Trumps fault lol. Now the issue with cargo flights might make sense.

Last Monday sent documents to my son in Denver by priority mail. Estimated 3 days to Denver. Actual tracking showed 2 days to Indy +1 day to Denver = 3 days to Denver...then 5 days to my son in Denver.

I had to send some documents down to Kennesaw Ga. Mailed them on 12/28 and they still haven't arrived. They probably lost them.

usps has been an absolute pain since as long as i can remember. I swear if for some reason i have to go in I always get stuck behind old ladys picking out stamps for 20 minutes. Shipping is getting faster every year and usps is getting slower. It would not surprise me if it took 4-5 day to mail a neighbor a postcard.

I sent a pkg to Houston 2nd day priority. It took 4 days to get to Indy and then left Indy twice according to tracking #. 12 days later it was delivered. Another to Az 3 day it took 18. Amazon may not be great but maybe USPS could get some tips. Or maybe the postmasters need to be on incentive

I have had a couple experiences of straight USPS shipments. One was a buffer for my marlin 60 .22 from Texas. It took 2 freaking weeks. It went through Missouri facilities. Wow! Stay away from Missouri facilities, as I swear it went from place to place to place, and once went back to its original destination annex in MO.

my other went via Washington or Oregon, went through Indy or Louisville, 3 days to arrive.

pretty sure it was all the same stampage.

have not notice any slow down via FedEx or UPs.

Had the same issue in December. I filled out a ridiculous form online BUT I did get a call and an email that they were checking into it. Had the package 3 days later. Came from NJ and stuck in PA. All the tracking would tell me was "in transit"

I mailed my phone company a payment on December 10th, they have not yet received it. I usually don't have many problems with the USPS, but this one caused a real problem.

I experienced a significant delay in shipping a gun from Zionsville to a gunsmith in Idaho via USPS priority. After a week I learned the package went from Zionsville to Indy and then sat there for over 10 days without leaving Indianapolis. It was a long gun and, therefore, not a small package that was likely to fall behind a desk. After it finally left Indy it went to Arizona, then Boise, and then to the town of final destination. Each layover was 2-3 days once that process began.
I initiated a claim after the package was one week overdue. I eventually got a personal phone call from the local post master in Idaho who told me he was doing his best to track the package down. When it did finally show up the local postmaster called me again and apprised me the package had arrived and would be delivered the next day. This proved to me the system is broken but there are still good conscientious people within the system.

I could tell you a whole different story about shipping a shotgun receiver and barrel to an engraver in Wisconsin about a month ago. I used UPS.

I have been doing online payments for the last few years...don’t even have a checkbook anymore. The few times I needed to mail a “check” it’s been money orders.

usps is in the middle of a upgrade to the sorting machines , it is at least 2 years behind schedule and was interrupted by the hoo yaa over mail in votes.. now they are even more behind.. add to that the sudden surge of postal use from covid..

The USPS has been a joke lately.

I just received a set of door handles today after being sent a month ago. They spent two weeks in Indy.

Last month I had a angled foregrip shipped from California. It took nearly three weeks to get here. At one point it was in Indy then to Florida then back to Indy then back to Florida then to Indy again.

This is why I use FEDEX or UPS if given the choice.
