Yahoo news this week (cant find the article right now) was saying that Biden's team was thinking of 2 ways of going with the vaccine.

    1. Making it a national requirement that everyone get it.
    2. Pushing it on to the states to decided but requiring some type of proof if to enter federal spaces (ie parks, buildings, etc)
Aka "show me your papers please"

What do you guys think of these appeoaches?
I dont like either of them.

    To Hell with them.

If the vaccine works, why do those who get it need to worry about those that haven't?

    Masking 2.0?

My concern is this will go just like the masks.
What will occur when your employer requires it?
    When walmart wants it?

We cynically claim that a mask is just as good as a vaccine because they told us it protects against infection?

Are you going to tell that to your employer and thus not be allowed back into work?

Or what about going into a store???

I see a business opportunity in counterfeit 'immunization papers'

Edit: Will they require illegals to show vaccination before they welcome them across the border?

Why should anyone who has had and recovered from Covid or gotten a shot need to wear a mask at all? The idea behind masks is to avoid spreading it. Those who have recovered/been vaccinated have antibodies and should not be spreading it.

If in 2022, one has to show proof of id using vaccination papers would that be considered voter suppression of the right by the left?

    Wait.

    Can you elaborate?

(This probably sounds more confrontational than I intend it.)

Are you saying you got the antibody test and they said that the antibodies only stay for 3 months?

I guess the question becomes whether the test is attenuated enough to detect a level of antibodies that still might be enough for the immune system to fight this off, but not enough to register positive in this specific test.

I'm assuming it has been quite some time since you were vaccinated against rubella and smallpox, do you think you have detectable levels of the associated antibodies in your blood right now?

How do I know if you got the vaccine if I see u on the street?
Perhaps we need to make you wear a star on your coat to shows you have been vaccines. I like yellow as a color.

As Dr. Fauci said this year, feel free to vote if you have COVID and make sure you walk up close enough to a poll worker and tell them you are sick.

I never pegged you as an anti-vaxxer.

I'm not. It makes no sense, if the vaccine works as advertised (strong immune response in 90 - 95% you know), to require proof of vaccination. It should be a maskers wet dream, they can finally protect themselves from covid without needing the help of those pesky individual liberty types

Think about it, why would a person who is immune need safe spaces. If you get vaccinated, why should you care who else on your flight has had it - provided the vaccine actually provides the immunity they are selling it on

I'm perfectly willing to consider the vaccine once enough early adopters have taken it for enough time to see if there are hidden problems. For your personal systems, do you run right out and download an operating system update as soon as it is available?

Yes emerge it and compile it against my custom set of user flags!

Even though I run a mac, updates are not seamless and trouble free. I prefer the answers to any problems I may have to already be available in the forums, developed by intrepid trail blazers, and thus minimize any personal inconvenience

A Windows user who downloads an update immediately would have to have a death wish, and worrying about security as a reason to be an early adopter would be better served by a switch to mac

I think employers will have problems mandating a vaccine that is only approved for emergency use at this point. When it is finally fully approved there won't be much to stop them.

I quit. But if I ever go back to contract services it's going to be fun jumping through whatever the vaccine hoops become.

Nah. The star has historically been used to identify "undesirables" which in the scenario are the unvaccinated/not-recovered.
