Chia seed has a sort of gelatinous quality when soaked with water. Could make a good substitute for eggs? It also makes a sort of wet pudding if you sweeten and flavor it.

    Interesting, I've noticed no change...

    Has your cup size changed?

    :)

I've been doing this with chia and flax. Wondering now if I need to dump the flax?

    OK, I have to ask.

Why the interest to substitute eggs. Why not use eggs. :dunno:
Did the fox eat the chickens again?

Because eggs are perishable, and not available if you don't have chickens and can't go to the store.

    OK....
    Just checking.

I do have some powdered eggs in the pantry. They taste terrible. Years ago my dad tried them and he said they taste just as bad as the powdered eggs they would serve as back-up in the Navy. So I guess that's as good as they get. :(

I can only answer for myself on this, but I have the powdered eggs because after a while eating anything will sound much better than eating nothing. We have no chickens and I've used the stuff on backpacking trips on special occasions. No argument from me that they're not the greatest meal ever, but then again neither is mountain house, wise foods, MRE's etc.

Time to resurrect this old gem.

Since my last post I've had a couple training sessions with the crew. I went to a two man team rifle competition in Georgia and posted an AAR about it on this forum. I've lost power at the house and fired up the generator for a short term solution. My nephew came over for a "survival" outdoorsy night and we went over shelter making, fire making, and he got to shoot an AR-15 with both the 22lr conversion kit and regular ammo.

    Otherwise, it's been pretty normal.

Purchased additional long term storage food supplies. Started the process of looking for a tent stove. Looking at a BowFlex for a home gym to maintain health. Met a new member for the local militia. Give thanks to the Lord Jesus, daily!!

I finally broke down and ordered some ballistic panels due to all of the civil unrest. I figure if not now, when?

Of course they are back ordered and I may be waiting a bit.

We keep buying additional stuff that we use regularly. I think by the elections this will prove out to be a good move as we'll just stay home until the crazy subsides.

    Could be anywhere
Restocked all the stocks we wore down...sealed the barrels and still just waiting.

I'm with Leadeye on just having a pint and just seeing it through.

I am trying to get a game plan together on how to down size because there is less storage space at the new place.

Maybe if I get lucky I can reorganize and make everything fit in the smaller footprint.

And now you are in the same boat as we are.
Looking at what's in the pantry today. Rotate some stock and making a list the same as you and LE.
We put in the 1st load of wood in prep for the next season. Still 3 more to haul up.
