I work my truck. It has paid for itself times over so that is a positive in owning it.
CKW wanted the magic bus. It is a 3500 series so lets talk running costs.

Thing is when the woman folk leave with the terrorists in tow I know full well that some idiot ass cell phone using non-driving dumb ass will not take them from me. They stand every chance of surviving most vehicular encounters. I will pay the price for that.

Work trucks are there own thing. Goes back to the nerd aspect of things.

Gotta do whatever makes you comfortable and the costs are what they are.

My Rav4 has 17" wheels. It will cost about $500 - $600 for a set of four tires delivered to the door and then I will take them to the sons garage and we will mount/balance them. This is from Discount Tire Direct, still not cheap but better than buying from the dealer.

Just threw on some Michelin A/S T+H on my 53000 mile 2018 Subaru Outback. The Bridgestone OEM rings were shot and loud and sucked big time.

    Hated 'em.

These Michelin's are rated for 80K miles and are super quiet.

Had them on my 2015 Outback also.

Costco had them for $700 done with warranty's & alignment and rotation included every 7-8000 miles.

Yea, well, truth be told, with the exception of pulling car trailers, my trucks didn't work too hard...just a lot of miles.

Except way back in the day when we did a lot of contracting work. Had a custom Ford crew cab dually. That truck worked hard. Man, that was a cool truck back in the day....

We don’t worry that much about truth.

That is a good price I'm going to have to check out Sam's Club and maybe rejoin Costco.

I like having a truck. It brings options to how you approach things. Doing some yard work and need mulch? Just run on down to the local garden center and have a yard and a half dumped in the back. Heading off to a car show 4 states away and need to tow an old Fiat there? No problem. Lumber, gravel, furniture. You name it and it gets tossed in the truck on a regular basis.

For years the friend that lives in the house we now have owned a truck. We lived next door (where the terrorists reside) and we had a key to that truck. I helped him keep it rolling including doing all the labor re-building the engine when it lost a head gasket and washed it out.
He had kids and decided to move to a more country environment. We bought the house from him and he, along with his truck moved about 35 minutes west.
It only took a short time before we realized a "MAN" has to own a "TRUCK". Take that as you may. No worries.
Soon after we had 2 Trucks. And an SUV.

Right now, I’m trying to decide what size truck is needed. I really like the Tacoma sized trucks but there are occasions where that size just would not do what I need a truck to do though. On the other hand, I don’t want to build a church for Easter, so to speak.
