Theres more now, used to have a fb page with everything in there but it got zucc'd.
As for stage quality it's a subjective thing. Lot of people are too in experienced to know what good stages are.
Max repeatedly ignoring or brushing off requests to blacklist Chris, max could easily validate that but he wont.

If Chris is a member of uspsa and has not been banned by uspsa, and has done nothing at South Central to be banned there. Then where is the beef?

I know of a member of uspsa that was banned at South Central years ago. It happens and was justified then.

Perhaps Max does not think it is justified in this case.

I think banning people should be done carefully.

Just curious, do you have any proof to back up your statements? Links would be helpful.

That would be nice. I've seen the word "proven" used, but I haven't seen any evidence presented. I have no idea who this Chris Chance person is. This topic is the first time I've read the name.

I appreciate all the volunteers whom make USPSA matches possible. It bothers me to hear such vitriol in this thread. If I know the folks at SCGC they would welcome constructive criticism that is not demeaning. I have always enjoyed the local matches, even if I am not an advanced shooter.

I don't know the specifics about blacklisting this individual, but that is between the club/MD and the individual. I don’t like it being portrayed like a criminal conspiracy. Is there nothing this person could do to redeem themselves. I am sure we all would like to be forgiven for mistakes we have made.

I personally have attended less matches this year due to kids schedules, work, and shooting Steel Challenge more to attend church on Sundays.

Max is a great guy and probably cares more about our shooting sports than most people I know. It is very easy to criticize some one who does a great deal of work for our sport, at least he is doing something for all shooters and not just a few.
The more you do, the more criticism you open yourself to.
Why not go to the guy face to face and state your issue, that's the best way to get issues resolved.
I think South Central is a great club, it is just 100 miles one way for me and I have a tough time justifying that for a shoot.:twocents:

PS: I have never heard of Chris Chance and apparently very few others have either, but I can guarantee most USPSA guys have heard of Max Bedwell, and have great respect for him.

The topic in general is match attendance decline, and here is the problem in specific:

Shooters today, and this is not just USPSA, have more of a "customer" mentality than a "volunteer" mentality. They want to show up and pay their money and shoot, and that's it...

    And here is "Exhibit A:"

Customers expressing expectations from the provider of a product isnt out of line. It's how a free market works

You think this is a business...but it's not. At the club level, this is a volunteer activity, where participants pay a token fee to cover the cost of items consumed in the match. Nobody at this level is making much of a profit. They are charging a pittance of a fee, to provide YOU with something to do on your weekend afternoon.

No club owes you, or anybody else, ANYTHING, other than a safe match where USPSA rules are fairly and consistently applied. You need to stop thinking like a "customer," and start thinking like a "volunteer." Don't like what is going on there? Get involved. Change it. Use your own good energy to push out what you perceive to be the bad.

If theft has been committed, that is the business of law enforcement. That is not the Match Director's concern, unless the activity is occurring on his property under his watch ("conduct detrimental to the match"). It is not within his sphere of concern what dealings a shooter is having with law-enforcement, his ex-spouse, how many people at the match are up to date on their shots, what portion can pass some arbitrarily-set purity test, or whether he needs to be installing transgender porta-johns with extra condoms for the PCC shooters.

In summary, what you are in essence saying, is that you and your colleagues are personally shunning someone, and you demand that every other club and match director in the area choose to shun the same person you are choosing to shun. It is a free country (almost), and you are free to do as you wish. Don't like what is going on at a particular club? Fine, vote with your feet. You have stated your reasons.

The club has spoken to your concern, on these pages, and has indicated they are clearly of a different opinion.

If this is all about genuine, objectively-defined "theft" (as opposed to someone being butt-hurt about a business deal that simply didn't turn out to their liking), you need to refer your concerns to law-enforcement.

People like max protect the Chris from being known to the masses. I've done quite a bit of work to educate shooters in this area about his actions. Your ignorance is your own fault, I am looking forward to when he rips off someone at south central. I'll be certain to point out how max is to blame.

The idea that the competitors at a match arent customers buying a product from the match director has been the nail in many coffins for matches over the years.
We are giving money for a service plain and simple. If you want more people giving you money to attend your event then you need to make the event better than the other ones people have the choice to attend.

Since everyone just seems to wanna stroke everyone off and not actually look at the issue of match attendance sucking and not offering reasons other than their own ego...

There is another reason why match attendance at your club is down, soon it’ll end up dead.

But, I’ll watch as Jeff Jones thinks he is hot **** trying to white knight one of the clubs biggest issues instead of addressing it
