I was looking at everyone's builds and parts options for a build, but then a stainless CZ 75B caught my eye. Then, a week later, I couldn't pass up:
    Yugo SKS
Russian M91/30 Mosin Nagant w/ matching # bayonet
    Yugo M48/M48A Mauser

So my funds are also recouping and my lower is still in the box. I guess this means I have longer to research and it was meant to be as something sweet is probably coming out on the market. That's what I keep telling myself.

I'm thinking I may sbr one of mine. I also just recently learned about something called a 458 socom

Finally got some time to put #49 together today. I started on the upper before I picked up the lower, but then life got in the way! Anyways, nothing special on the lower, MagPul stock, grip, and trigger guard. I polished the trigger and hammer and installed JP reduced power springs. Trigger pull is light but has a lot of creep, so I may be replacing that later on.
The ipper is a little odd. I put an adjustable gas block on the 16" .300 blk barrel. Installed it in a Gibbz side charging upper, with a 15" UTG KeyMod handguard.
My plan is to figure out how many turns it takes to go from no gas to functioning semi auto. Basically run it as a straight pull bolt action, with the option of semi auto functioning when I want. I already have a .300 SBR, so this will compliment that one. And yes; it'll be shot suppressed most of the time.

    That's a great handguard, DoggyDaddy.
I haven't ever seen one like it ..... did you make that yourself ?

Thanks! No, I didn't make it. It's made by Lucid. I ordered it from Brownell's (complete stock set). I'm planning on making this an M16-ish build but wanted the wood furniture. Mine is the "camo" pattern, but it didn't come with the finger grooves in the hand guard that they show in the picture.

Thanks very much for the detailed response.
I'll keep that furniture set in mind for a future build.
Would give you 'rep', but us newbies don't have any to give ! :)

I'm liking the way that upper looks DoggyDad. :yesway:

Thanks! I'm happy with the way it came out. Pretty lightweight too, which kind of surprised me a little. I'll probably put the carry handle rear sight on it while I'm waiting on the upper. Well, for 5 minutes of the time that I'm waiting on the upper anyhow. :):

Yea I like it real stubby for a couple of reasons- it's a smaller package to tote, and when I snug up tight with my nose on the charging handle I need it short to avoid touching my shoulder with it ( and presumably instantly go to jail)

I might have to play around with mine a little and try it up tight like that. I put mine back as far as I did so I could get a cheek weld on the brace (but still not touch my shoulder and go to jail :):).

Picked these up from Bradis this morning. #'s 171 and 172. Shooter had them selected for consecutive #'s, wrote up and ready to be picked up. I would have been in and out in 5 minutes but some other items caught my eye. :):
