There had to be some friendly fire when police responded. I find it hard to believe a single person could injure 110 people before being overpowered.

Then you don't know what you don't know. Even running a Simumition drill in a night club is incredibly confusing. The loud music masks gun fire and direction, lighting effects, maybe smoke machine, etc. In real events people maintain denial, mill around, bunch up, etc. Realising there is a shooter, finding him, and mounting a credible counter offense in that environment is incredibly challenging even for trained folks, let alone panicked untrained, possibly drinking, folks taken unaware.

The Red Cross is begging for blood donations, and ironically, the gay community cannot donate because of an archaic rule.

What is the left going to blame it on this time? A Muslim killing 50 people at a gay night club. It was not a Christian or NRA member.
    This is very sad.

Was there a planned parenthood next door and he got confused???

Not making light just sick of the upcoming denial and obama pen stroking that is sure to commence.

Yeah, can't imagine responding to an incident in an environment like that.

I was watching some of the live coverage this morning on CNN. The reporter commented on police shooting at the building from outside and asked how they knew what they were shooting at. Their talking head said that when shots were being fired at them from inside the building they are going to return fire.

The rule that was just changed last year by FDA allowing blood donations from the gay community?

OK, saw online that they were not accepting. Will have to check the source.

This is the latest info I can find. It looks like the Red Cross still may be deferring donations by MSM (males who have sex with males).

"America’s Blood Centers and the American Red Cross are currently reviewing the draft guidance put forward by the FDA in May 2015 and will respond to the guidance in a timely manner. The recommendation would change the current lifetime deferral of MSM to a 12-month deferral. This change in policy would align the donor deferral period for MSM with criteria for other activities that may pose a similar risk of transfusion-transmissible infections.

It is important to note that this process is just beginning and that the lifetime blood donation deferral for MSM remains in place."

The line at the local blood bank wraps clear around the building. That is a pretty awesome response from what appears to be a diverse group of people.
