A Jack in the Box recently opened in Greenwood, and I heard on the radio that they've introduced a bacon-flavored milkshake. Haven't gotten up there to try it yet, but I'd like to!

    Bacon Wrapped Greenbeans

Total crowd pleaser. I have yet to find anyone who wasn’t eating all of their green beans with this recipe. It is so sweet and savory that I will usually have a second helping of this instead of dessert at holiday dinners. Yes, it is that good. You can also make this ahead of time and store in the fridge the night before. Reheat in the oven for 10-15 minutes, and you are ready to go.

    Ingredients:

    • Bacon
    • Can green beans (whole)
    • Garlic Salt
    • Brown sugar (which ever you have will work)
    • Foil
    Directions:

    1. Drain Beans and take approximately 8 green beans and bundle them together over a slice of bacon and wrap them up. It is fine to have the ends sticking out on either side. Place them all on a foil lined baking sheet with a lip because you will have drippings from the bacon. Sprinkle with garlic salt and brown sugar.
    2. Place in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. You will need to take them out and flip them over after the 20 minutes and cook for additional 15- 20 minutes. You might need to drain the baking sheet with the excess fat drippings before placing it back into the oven. Sprinkle with more garlic salt and sugar after flipping and before putting them back into the oven.
    3. You can serve immediately or store and reheat in the over later. They are just as good. Just make sure to reheat in the oven so the bacon crisps back up. Microwave=soggy.
Note: One can of green beans makes approximately 8-10 bundles and hence will require 8-10 slices of bacon.

    Where's the bacon?
This thread has sat idle for over a year. This is unacceptable; a travesty, even!

Thus, I bring it back with the epic goodness that is all things bacon...

A friend sent me this a day or so ago, and I finally had time to make it tonight.

I bring you: Cheesy Bacon Bombs!

Take Pillsbury Grands "Flaky layers" biscuits
A block of cheese; I used Mozzerella, from Kraft, but I suppose you could use something like pepper jack or something else with more zip to it
    A package of thick-cut bacon

Cut the block into one inch cubes of cheese. Please note that I did not tell you to cut the cheese. I will not be responsible if you do so.
Cut the biscuits in half and wrap each half around the cheese cubes, covering the cheese completely.
Take a strip of bacon, thinner end first, and wrap it around the dough-covered cheese. Give it a little twist once the dough is covered one way, so it wraps around the whole thing.
Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
This should make 12 of them.

Now, take a nice, deep pan, and add your cooking oil to it. I used olive, but canola or even wesson would probably work fine. Heat the oil and put a couple of the bacon bombs into it. Give it a couple of minutes on each side, so the bacon crisps. (2 1/2 if you like really crispy, less if you like it more chewy.)
Remove from the oil and put each bomb on a paper towel to allow it to drain. Serve hot.

    Mine came out like this:

Yes, I ate 4 of them before I remembered to take the pic. Do it yourself and take better pictures! :)

    Blessings,
