Unless, they have the best deal on the planet, no way.
This has nothing to do with policy, but pricing. Little Gridiron football does their weigh-in at Dick's. (sponsors) At last year's weigh-in, my son wanted a new pair of gloves for football season. Dick's wanted almost $60 for a pair I found at Wally for $20. Same exact pair. $50-60 for Under Armour shirts for kids... Come on.

    Unreasonable pricing.

    This is what "Yuppy-fied" means.....................;)

I wonder if it would make a difference if they went on all the news outlets, and gave a statement how misguided they were in making their original decision?

And then lowered pricing by 40% and expanded their hunting/sporting/camping sections by 40%?

I'd consider them at that point.

Are they going to carry classic revolvers as well? Some folk like them.....

BUT; I've been to a Dick's exactly twice. Years ago. I think I bought a box of ammo. My memory is cloudy.

If it comes down to shooting Ammo from Dicks or not shooting. I will be buying Ammo from them.
I guess this means that you are monitoring whether Dicks has ammo or not?

There is only one reason why Dicks would have ammo when no one else would. It would be because your fellow gun owners refused to support a business that doesn't support our rights. So you will choose to support them?

As soon as a Sunday flyer says, 22lr bricks for $19.99 and mosins for $99 you all would be there faster than a $2 whore can get to the bar on nickle night.

    The boycott

If 100% of the INGO membership absolutely boycotted Dick's 100% forever, Dick's would never notice. As far as I'm concerned it's not about having an impact on them it's about choosing who you wish to deal with. They suggested who they want as customers when they pulled their BS on the AR deal and I'm clearly not included in their target customer base. They don't care if they lose my business, I don't either. Whether or not it impacts them means nothing to me.

It also doesn't bother me a bit if somebody else wants to do business with Dick's. :dunno:

FWIW, my own opinion is pretty much this also, and it does irk me that Dick's caved
so I haven't been in since. Don't plan to do so. That said I'll still shop at the retailers mentioned
in the op that caved in the past and I'm ashamed to admit it but I bought a Colt or two even after the great cave in( when Colt ceased AR sales for a time) by them back in '89.
I guess I've been wondering if most people would do similar and either relent with time or forgive if they reverse themselves as with Colt.

Well - I think there has to be some "forgiveness" - I remember when S&W made some very poor decisions too, haven't bought from them since, but if you really investigate - most bad decisions were made by all these companies at CEO level, quite often the CEO or even the entire business ownership changes.

If we held the bad decisions against all the screw up the idiot CEO's make - we wouldn't be able to buy from anyone!

The other issue is that once the CEO is canned or leaves, the rest of the "good" people are punished for things beyond their control if the boycott continues.

S&W made very bad decisions and went bankrupt. The S&W of today is under new ownership.

The business I work in is boycotted all the time by one group or another. We just market to the people that do come in. And we just keep making money.

The reason can be seen in this thread. Dick's is going to open gun shops under the name of Field and Stream, INO'ers will flock there for the ammo. Well it ain't Dick;s!

Yes, I was aware of that - kind of the example I was writing about. I should have explained that I would buy from S&W now if they had something I wanted. I should also say that I don't shop at Dicks, haven't for a year or so - just due to the type of store and pricing.

I really liked shopping at the Sportsman at Lafayette, went several times and hated to see them close. Went to GM there, would buy there if the price is right - but none of the ammo or gun prices were close to reasonable during the grand opening, so doubt they will get much of my business.
