How does a Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm stack up against a glock, XD, M&P etc? I'm not trying to get into an ego match up here, but these Sigs are on sale for $350 and if they're the level of quality as a Glock, then I'm going to be jumping on the wagon. My biggest problem is that I don't know anything about Sigs or the reputation of these particular models.

The cheapskate in me says to jump on it, the realist in me says it's probably too good to be true.

As a Sig guy, I'm pretty active on several Sig Sauer forums. Apparently, these things are sweet. Lots of (seriously...LOTS) folks saying that they are as accurate as the Sig classic pistols. I've also heard that they are thrilled with all the aftermarket items available for them as well.

    $350 is one helluva price.

Oh, and you will LOVE the decocker!

As far as durability and reliability they are fine. Mine had an awful trigger, very hard and endless creep, but couldn't be faulted on function .
I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if they fit you well, I'm likely to have had an unusually bad one trigger wise.

I'm glad to hear they aren't junk. I usually you tube for some reviews, but there's a lot of time involved sorting through the video's to find one that seems credible.

They're certainly not junk by any means, getting one that gives unreliable functioning would be highly unlikely imo.

SmokinSigs357 is right. The SP2022 is a "sleeper". Everybody has their own trigger tastes, but I'm pretty sure most folks would consider it as having a much better trigger than a Glock. Even among guys that normally have an intense dislike for plastic guns, the SP2022 is extremely well-regarded. If that's a new pistol, I think it's a steal.

Edit: Having read kalboy's post, I should say that there are SA/DA and DAO versions of this gun, and I have only used the SA/DA.

As bad as my trigger was I'd have to agree it was at least as good if not better than the couple Glocks ( ,out of box) that I've shot.

I read this before making my purchase, I felt it was good information on the 2022. SIG Sauer Pro series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

France ordered over 250,000 of them for their service weapons.

Here's the link to what I'm thinking about. Sig Sauer SP2022 9mm E2022-9-B

I'm going to assume at that price that they have to be regular sights and not night sights. How hard is it to install night sights on a sig?

Is it worth buying that and modifying it? I picked up the threaded barrel version and it came with night sights. My local dealer was in line with price and it was a lot easier than trying to screw around with shipping to FFL.

I wanted the TB since I'm picking up a Suppressor, making the added cost for the TB with Nightsights worth in IMO.

That's my point. If the night sight model was another $50, I'd pay it without a second thought. How much was yours with the night sights and TB?

The SP2022 is one of Sig's few winners of the past 5 years. These guns are very solid and I highly recommend them.

I've said it time and time again. The SP2022 is Sig's best kept secret. Accurate as you are and reliable beyond suspicion. I actually prefer it to the p226 ANY day.

I have two Sig's, 220 and a 229 and I love them. Those are basically guns that I will not trade/sell in order to get something else. I ordered the SP2022 since it is on sale so can't wait to try it. They had them as several guns shows so I know I like the feel of the gun but price was just not right, this one definitely is, especially if you get free shipping.

Never heard anything bad about the Sig Pros (unlike the P250s).
If I was in the market for a polymer SIG, that's what I'd get. Go for it!
Too bad they aren't compatible with other P-series magazines.
