Boy and I went to the range yesterday to put the new to me taurus 9mm revolver up against some watermelons.

This is the basic review we did:

So... it was worth $300, but not more. It works and hits well and hard for its size. The main issues are extraction of HP ammo.

But it is a hoot to shoot and for that is worth the fun it brings.

P.S. We did 4 total videos for yesterday, including some CCI and AK ones. There was also gonna be an intermission video, but that did not go so well:

A friend of mine had one of those a few years ago; bought it for many of the same reasons you did. We were amazed at how much more perceived recoil it had compared to Taurus and S&W .38s shooting standard or +P loads. We also found that the moon clips fit some types of ammo (cases) VERY loosely, others just right, and others VERY tightly. This limited ammo selection somewhat, as you had to choose one of the types that fit "just right," in order to facilitate carriage of spare clips (yes, I mean clips!), as well as "mooning" and "de-mooning".

Eventually, he decided that the recoil and ammo pickiness outweighed sharing a common caliber with his EDC pistol, so he traded the Taurus in on a S&W J-Frame .38 and went on down the road.
