Youtuber shoots himself on video using SERPA holster

Some time back I posted a review of the SERPA holster. Some Instructors I know made comments about the SERPA not being safe and went on to explain how AD's have happened on ranges.

Well, Tex Grebner (a Youtuber) shot himself this weekend using a SERPA and caught the whole event on video. Not only that, he explains how it happened and it's identical to the situation explained to me.

WARNING: He does shoot himself in this video and he shows the wound. I don't personally find this offensive, I figured I might want to include this warning anyway.

I still say that it wasn't the holster and that it was the poor training techniques he was employing...

Ouch! I guess that holster isn't the best for 1911 style pistols. I would imagine though that the same thing could easily happen with any other gun too if your finger curls in. But many holsters can still cause that.
