This is my first purchase with RK Guns and so far i am pretty disappointed. Placed the order on 12/15/17, said it would ship in 14-21 days, now they say since it is over 30 days they are canceling my order and I need to contact them to place another order. :xmad:

Anyone else ever have issues with them? By the way the wait time to talk to someone is horrible.

Never had any problems so far. Usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive at local store. Could be a backorder situation from the manufacturer or distributor. Try the reorder and give them a second chance.

    Yep-
My Order Date was December 22nd.
They had a "pending" status of my payment that hit my bank account immediately the first day, then it disappeared until the shipping process officially started which was January 20th - this last Saturday.

Today I received my little package and other than waiting, it's perfect. Super discount.

Check your accounts, they also sent me an email just before sending but I saw my bank activity just before that.

My only order with them was shipped within 2 days. I wasn't a fan of their pick up process for the transfer. They would not let me handle the firearm before the transfer, which was kind of obnoxious. I had the guy behind the counter do a quick function check on a couple of things before I did the transfer. Not sure, I'd mess with them again unless they had a price that was just ridiculously better than Grab a Gun or my local go to stores.

Thanks for the info, hopefully i can get a hold of someone tomorrow as it was a very good price on an SR22, but I am learning quickly that a killer price is sometimes not worth the PITA that the purchase can be.

One and I waited about a week or less as listed. No other real problems but Gun Case Locked & Manager carries it to the front of store. No Mention of my Cocked & Locked 1911. Received my 12% Rebate Promptly. Rebate can be done over the phone or Internet. :yesway:

WebSnyper - you said they would not let you handle the firearm? I would tell them they can keep it and refuse to pay. That's pretty ridiculous.

I ordered a handgun from RK Guns last January and had it one week later.

I've always been allowed to handle handguns in Rural King but they have always hand a trigger lock or a lock through the slide as it is company policy.

Likewise, always had a trigger lock or block of some sort, escorted out the store after purchase. I've bought a number of RKguns, never had an issue. One of my last purchases took about 6 weeks to ship, but I feel that when you email corporate, they're always quick about answering your questions.

I had trouble purchasing a revolver at the local store a few months ago. Gun was in stock, took over an hour, I filled out the online 4473, it went through in less than a minute. But the store manager said they had to run all sales through corporate and normally I should expect to spend an hour to purchase a firearm. I told her I purchased many firearms at Gun shows, that I was a collector and had my FFL-03 license. I said I have never spent over 10 ~ 15 minutes purchasing a firearm!

Shortly after my episode they did replace the manager, don't know if the process is any better now.

Buddy of mine from work buys RK guns and has never had a problem. Only thing he's encountered is the gun showed delivered to the store, but the store hadn't processed it in yet so it took an extra day. But in all it was less than a week.
My brother has bought a couple too with no issues.

This is kind of how I feel. It would have to be under gun shop cost or something before I'd buy from them. My LGS matches to the best of their ability if I tell them what it goes for at a certain source and factor in shipping and the $10 transfer fee. I usually always can get it matched, and get it the next day if I get my order in early enough. I mainly buy on grabagun or places like that when they are selling guns way under what my LGS can even buy it for. Like all of the S&W shields a little while back.
Heck at the rural king where I'm at they even have said they want to escort you out of the store and junk.

I'm not a fan of the trigger locks since you can't dry fire the firearm, but if you already know what you want, their prices on sale can be pretty good.

As far as an employee "escorting" me out the door, I really don't mind if someone else carries my purchase out the door. Heck, I'd appreciate it if they would lug it all the way to where I parked.:)

I never understood the point of store employees having to escort you outside the store before they will hand over your purchase. It's like they believe it's acceptable if you kill everybody in the parking lot as long as you don't bother the shoppers in the store. And once they hand you your gun there is not going to be any way they can stop you from walking back into the store and killing everyone. Sounds like "feel good B.S." to me.

I literally bought a new gun a week ago, Got to the store in 3 days. It was annoying I couldn't look at it until everything was complete and paid for it. :/

I have purchased from the RK’s in Jasper, Evansville and Owensboro both off the shelf and online never an issue just a quick 4473 and out the door?
The walk you out the parking lot thing is stupid but i can deal with it in order to save a considerable amount of $$$.

    BTW
I do not expect box store employees to be experts on weapons most just work at RK and gun shops are salesmen trying to push products that they receive best return on.

Have purchased 4 guns from RK, 3 in store and one online without any issues. Agree with others on the escort to the door but I understand it's their company policy. All purchases have been from the Terre Haute RK.

WebSnyper - you said they would not let you handle the firearm? I would tell them they can keep it and refuse to pay. That's pretty ridiculous.

Yep, thought that was a bit crazy myself.

I ordered a handgun from RK Guns last January and had it one week later.

I've always been allowed to handle handguns in Rural King but they have always hand a trigger lock or a lock through the slide as it is company policy.

That is what they were seeming to do for out of the case purchases (everything had a trigger lock, etc), but for the internet sales, the gun did not have a trigger lock and I "think" that was the reason he would not let me handle it. Though handling one with a trigger lock is useless anyway. I asked the guy behind the counter to dry fire it (safe direction, after making sure it was clear, etc) and make sure that the trigger reset properly, etc, which he had no problem doing. I have always been able to handle a gun that was bought online before completing the transfer at other FFLs. It is part of what you are "supposed" to do, i.e. verify no issues before completing the transfer, etc.

Likewise, always had a trigger lock or block of some sort, escorted out the store after purchase. I've bought a number of RKguns, never had an issue. One of my last purchases took about 6 weeks to ship, but I feel that when you email corporate, they're always quick about answering your questions.

Yep, see above about the RKGun purchase and not being able to handle it.

This is kind of how I feel. It would have to be under gun shop cost or something before I'd buy from them. My LGS matches to the best of their ability if I tell them what it goes for at a certain source and factor in shipping and the $10 transfer fee. Heck at the rural king where I'm at they even have said they want to escort you out of the store and junk.

Agreed. I really had no issue even with being escorted, but not being able to "touch" the gun at all before the transfer (or even after until I had left the store) was over the top.

Knowing what you want is one thing, but being able to check out the specific item you are buying is generally a must for me. Unless they have something I can't touch the price on elsewhere, I can't say I'd subject myself to their not letting me handle the gun again.

Have purchased 4 guns from RK, 3 in store and one online without any issues. Agree with others on the escort to the door but I understand it's their company policy. All purchases have been from the Terre Haute RK.
Understood on company policy as far as after the purchase, it was the inability to handle the firearm before the transfer that I did not care for.

I will say that during the time I was there for my transfer (had to wait a bit as all of their RK computer terminals for doing the 4473 were down and they had to reboot one of them to get at least one working to use), I probably had about 10 guns pointed at me (all with trigger locks, etc but still no need for it). So much so that I stepped a good 5 feet back from the case while I was waiting just to avoid constantly having one pointed at me.

Bottom line, there's just no need to deal with RK's process, when I can go the Grab a Gun route and transfer it at USDS, or purchase something at PSS, etc. I didn't have any real problem with their shipment time, etc. It was the in store pick up process that I didn't care for.
