    Here's the site: https://www.concealedcarryservices.org/

    Here's the Indiana section: https://www.concealedcarryservices.org/indiana

Seems to be a service that goes through the process of applying for a license, or guides you through doing so. My wife went out to dinner with some friends, and one of them was going through the process of getting her LTCH. The conversation turned to her friend saying that she things open-carry is illegal... because of this packet that "Concealed Carry Services" sent her. I've attached the packet to this post, but here are some highlights (emphasizing some inaccuracies).

I encourage you to give it a quick read. I'm curious on your input of what this service is telling people.

    Section 8 - Location restrictions

Pretty sure the ones in red here aren't accurate.

    Section 8: Carry Location Restrictions
There are a number of prohibited areas where you are not permitted to carry your weapon,
whether you are an Indiana license to carry holder or an outof-state
resident with a reciprocal license. Concealed
    weapons are not permitted in:
    1. State Parks
    2. K-12 Schools
    3. Casinos
    4. Court Facilities
    5. Airports
    6. State Capital Building
    7. U.S. Federal Buildings
    8. Any private property where the property owner or tenant has placed signs or placards
    denoting that guns are forbidden.

    9. Detention facilities, correctional institutes or mental hospitals.

    Section 9 - Safe Concealment

This part, in particular, is what made my wife's friend believe OC is illegal:

Do not display you weapon in public (unless you don’t mind jail time).
Having a license to conceal means that the weapon must be CONCEALED at ALL TIMES.

You should expect to be arrested at gunpoint should someone report that they saw
your weapon in public, no matter how unintentional it was. It is important that your
method of carry be as discreet and secure as possible. For example, it would not be a
good idea to tuck your gun into the back of your jeans under your skin tight shirt and
then walk into the movie theater. You have no control over how a stranger will react to
seeing it, and they could potentially call the police and report you as a man or woman
with a gun. Even though you have legal permission to be carrying said gun, you
obviously missed the “concealed” portion of the license name
    if someone was able to
report you, so don’t expect sympathy from the police.

It is typically not a good idea to let too many people know that you carry a gun or
weapon. You never know how they will react, especially if they are opposed to guns. It’s
best to keep that information to immediate family or close friends who share your views
    on concealed weapons.

I've got to think they copy/pasted this packet from other conceal-only states... but WOW this is full of nonsense. Slightly concerning is apparently her husband has a lot of guns (maybe a member here?)... so I would hope someone with lots of guns would be able to inform her better on the laws than what this website is sending people.

Something tells me these jackasses aren't in any way, shape, or form qualified to be giving advice on carry laws or legal advice in general for that matter.

It's hard to prove a negative. Since the law doesn't state open or concealed, you can't point them to a specific point.
    But there's this

    Point them to these links

    Indiana State home page

Near the bottom, it says "Top FAQs"

Does Indiana law require me to carry my handgun on my person in a concealed or exposed manner?Indiana law is silent on this issue; however, carrying an exposed firearm in public may be alarming to some people and create unnecessary and unwanted attention to yourself. Your right to carry a firearm may also be restricted on private property, various sporting venues, and some businesses by the owners. Be attentive for posted signs warning of restricted areas when carrying a firearm into public places. If approached by a law enforcement officer for official business purposes, it is recommended that you tell the officer in a non-threatening manner that you are in possession of a firearm and that you have a permit.

    I'll second that.

    Parks: they have outdated info.
On casinos they are correct though. And they must(?) provide a lockbox at the entrance for you to check your weapon. At least some do provide that service. Trying to recall whether that is law or courtesy.

Sounds like these clowns are just opportunists that saw the huge number of newbies looking for carry permits and decided there was money to be made there. They are most likely just looking for a chance to skim money off the process and would do the same for an anti-gun group if there were such a thing as a license to not carry.

What is so complicated about applying for a License to Carry in Indiana? Anybody with an elementary school reading comprehension should be able to follow the written directions. If somebody can't follow the simple instructions, I would question their ability to understand the law and thus their competency to carry a handgun. Looks like somebody has found a way to take peoples money by offering a poorly developed product. Buyer Beware!

Why, in the name of Elmer Keith, would anyone need a service to go through this....especially one that gives bad advice?

Incorrect or misleading on almost all counts. This "service" is more of a disservice.

    Section 8: Carry Location Restrictions
There are a number of prohibited areas where you are not permitted to carry your weapon,
whether you are an Indiana license to carry holder or an outof-state
resident with a reciprocal license. Concealed
    weapons are not permitted in:
    1. State Parks - Outdated, and mostly incorrect. ACoE properties are still off-limits.
    2. K-12 Schools - More than just K-12.
    3. Casinos - Not exactly correct. There are exceptions.
    4. Court Facilities - Not correct. Most local governments forbid it, as do most Judges (by court order), but not all.
    5. Airports - Incorrect, outside of security.
    6. State Capital Building - Correct.
    7. U.S. Federal Buildings - Correct
    8. Any private property where the property owner or tenant has placed signs or placards
denoting that guns are forbidden. Completely incorrect
    9. Detention facilities (correct), correctional institutes (correct) or mental hospitals (incorrect).

Those sound more like MI rules. Do they have the wrong state? At least here it is called a concealed pistol license so you can almost forgive the instructors who tell you that you could go to jail for not concealing.
