I don't think I would call the P290 a subcompact as much as Sig would like to think so. I tried one out but being DAO with a hammer thus needing room for the mainspring its much too wide, i'll stick with my CM9.

I've watched a lot of Gabe Saurez's training videos and read a lot of his comments and posts on warriortalk and I have come to the conclusion that he is one of the most opinionated, self-riotous, arrogant "operators" I have ever seen. He is very rude to his student's and colleagues, especially if they do not share his opinions. By comparison, he makes James Yeager seem like the most modest person alive.

Oh, and I tried a p290 at my LSG and didn't like it. Way to chunky for me.

    .....Rant over

There are lots of stories about P290 problems. I bought one on impulse and then researched (big mistake). I figured the Sig name was good enough. I ended up selling it before I even shot it and going with the PPS.
