Has anybody ever had any dealings with the XMG AR/M16 belt fed reciever. They come in .308 and 8mm. Looks like a MG34 that your AR15/M16 lower fits into. Been thinking that might be a last chance to get a belt fed.

People must like them as they rarely come up for sale. IIRC there is one on ARF right now in 8mm. I'm really not sure why you'd want one if you didn't have a M16 receiver or at least a DIAS. In semi-only, the fun factor would be drastically decreased. If I were going to get a semi-auto belt-fed I'd be looking at a repro 1919.

In that case, the XMG might be a worth-while venture. I have been looking at the LM7 myself. I just don't have the $$ to feed a .308 belt-fed.

Pass. Seriously. An acquaintance of mine has one and has had no end of problems with it. To make matters worse, Lakeside Machine has been anything but helpful in getting those problems resolved.

A small sample size, to be sure, but it's enough to convince me!
