Been a Cowboy's fan since I was three. I don't jump bandwagons. ;) And at least my favorite quaterback is since in the league. He may be a commentator, but he's still in there! :D

I would love to have a set of Cornhole boards with those decals on them, but I have no idea where to start...I actually have bare-wood CH boards ready to be painted too.

I've been on the waiting list for season tickets for 2+ years. CAN NOT WAIT FOR MY FIRST GAME IN MY NEW SEASON TICKET SEATS THIS YEAR (even if they are at the top).

Having the team here is HUGE for the city and the state. I could give two poops if it is socialist or not. GO COLTS!

Also, I keep hearing the same people complain about how our tax dollars are flowing into the city to make it what it is... THIS IS NOT TRUE. Tax dollars flow OUT OF MARION COUNTY to all the po-dunk little towns all over the state. Them's the facts. Look it up.

So you're saying that some of the taxes I'm paying here in Hendricks County AREN'T paying for that monstrosity downtown Indy built specifically for a one year event?

That's fine and it's your right to not give two poops that the rights of others are being trampled. I certainly hope you don't expect me to give two poops when the government is trampling on your rights. I'll gladly look away on those who don't care about me or my liberty.

I don't understand how someone could get so emotionally involved in a sports team that they are willing to sacrifice the liberty of others. Before any comments come in, yes, I have a huge emotional involvement in this. But mine involvement is in liberty, not a meaningless football game. Rome is burning but nobody cares. The gladiators are playing. Who is John Galt?

What I'm saying is when you put all the state taxes into one big pot and then distribute them out to each county, Marion county puts more into the pot than it gets out. The legislation that directed monies from Hendricks county to the stadium may have reduced that number some, but on the whole Marion county generates more state revenue than it uses.

I've linked to the stats before... but today was a long day, so I don't have the time to look it up again.

I understand the Who is John Galt sentiment... and that you feel that taxation is unjust, but I don't see how this affects your liberties.

p.s. Despite saying that I couldn't give two poops about it, I do really want to understand. I was just being extreme since its football season.

Taking your property against your will for use that you don't support isn't an infringement of your liberty?

Hurst already allowed people to park on his property on game days. The city would have none of it because they or irsay wasn't profiting from it. I'd hate to guess what Hurst's legal expenses were just for fighting the eminent domain the city used to force him off the property. I don't care if Hurst charged $100 to park on game day. I don't care what a privately owned parking garage charges during events. As was mentioned before, some of these garages are or were heavily subsidized.

    I'll try this again.

City to Hurst: we want your property.

Hurst to city: I don't want to sell it.

City to Hurst: Fine, we will abuse eminent domain to take your property for the benefit of a private individual. Oh, btw, we will determine what the price will be and you get to take it or leave it.

You don't see a problem with that?do you think it was wrong that a city condemned houses and used eminent domain to take homes to put up a strip mall in the northeast? Viroids taking property for sports venues is green lighting other abuses for private gain.

I see that taxation without representation is an infringement on your liberty... but this is not that.

Are you saying that pointing a gun to my head to force me to pay for something I don't want or need (i.e. Lucas Oil, others' health care or housing and food) against my will is not an infringement upon my liberty and rights? That's not Taxation without Representation. That's robbery.
