Controversial late rules by the outgoing Bush administration include allowing the carrying of concealed weapons in some national parks...
Hey, all those Pollyannas who said that Obama wouldn't be able to get around to gun restrictions, he's doing it on DAY ONE.

I'm with Scutter, I thought National Park carry was already in effect.

Nevertheless, this is a great start for our new president. Jeesh.

Hate to say it, but it's actually a pretty routine thing for a new administration to do.

I don't think they can stop national park carry this way. It's not pending, it's a finalized rule. They will have to go through the rule making process all over again.

IIRC, it became active a few weeks ago. it's supposed to be 30 days after it's entered into the Federal Register and that was done in December.

I'm pretty sure it's already active and would require the rule making process to start all over again. I'm not even sure he could issue an executive order stopping it. However, the news article seems to disagree with me, so I could be wrong.

He already ordered last night to stop all military tribunal hearings at Gitmo too. Head this morning as I turned on the news.

It begins. I hate to say this, but no amount of letter writing is going to stop him and this congress.
