Maybe number 2 was trained to sniff out drugs and not trained in attack procedures.
My dog acts the same way as 2 did, right up to the point where you become a threat to me or my family. Since the BG was running away "Puppy" probably just figured he didn't want to play anymore.

Mine is like neither. Usually mine slaps me around or yells at me or sometimes she cooks me supper. If I'm really lucky I get to sleep in the bed when her pups don't overtake it in the middle of the night before I get to bed!
