I've been wondering, with as many bacon lovers as we have here on INGO, what the favorite brand of some of you were. Let's see what the most popular brand of bacon is? I'll list some in a poll and see if we can't find an answer.

Uh.... Thats not bacon. Fresh would just be really fatty meat.

I have to say that real bacon from a butcher is best.
That crap you buy at the store is not truly aged/smoked bacon. They inject a bunch of curing chemicals into it, give it a smoke flavoring, then package it up and move it out. True bacon is cured, then smoked, then packaged (this process takes several days, not a few minutes like in the processing plants).

I do still buy bacon though, but as soon as money and time allow, I'm going to be making my own. I have a smoker that could easily handle a couple hundred pounds of bacon, and I plan to make use of it. I just need to find a good source of pork bellies.

Little grocery store in Akron has a great meat selection. I buy most all my bacon and all my meat from him. Once in a while I will buy a package somewhere else. End up throwing the package bacon away then going and getting good bacon from Dave.

BTW, only grocery store in town if someone wants to check it out. Only a half block east of the four way stop in the middle of town.
