I have Remington 600 in .243win, and it is by far the loudest gun I've ever owned. I guess it's just because of it's short barrel, but it puts out a tremendous boom. It's louder than friends .308, .22-250s, ARs, AKs, etc.
    So whats your loudest gun?

Right now my Springfield 03A3 30-06. I had a S&W model 29/44mag that required good ear protection when shooting indoors but sold that due to ammo cost.

    I'm guessing it's one I just put together and haven't shot yet - a 20" 500mag with brake.

OUCH! From someone that lost a bit of their hearing over the years from industry and trade noise, this is something you will regret later in life. Hearing loss is no fun at all and really detracts from the quality of life.

+1 Guys, don't let your bravado damage your hearing. When I was younger I sometimes didn't use ear protection, and regret it now.
