I still refer to magazines as "clips" on occasion. I don't normally finish the whole word, though. I usually get to cli- before I correct myself.

At the range, I find the clip thing coming up quite a bit. Like nails on a chalk board to me. I dont correct anyone, but I do use the correct terminology.

I sometimes call rounds cartridges, while correct, its stupid old fashioned! Wilson mags (1911) are still Wilson Rogers mags to me (and I aint that old yet!). I find myself wanting a machine rifle, instead of an assault rifle. :D I type bullets as BOOLITS. :D

Of course, who can forget the gem: Well I got a Glock .40 because it is 31 times better than 9! :D

The clip thing seems to crop up now and then.

Although one of the dumbest things I've read from a reputable source was American Rifleman once said that USP stood for "Universal Service Pistol" :ugh:

When I bought my first gun in Indiana, I asked the dealer if the waiting period was one or two weeks. That was the Kalifornian in me. I very quickly learned that Indiana is a free state, unlike the Socialist Kingdom of Kalifornia.

I asked the same question (having just moved here from New York). When he told me I could take the pistol home that afternoon, I was shocked. The clerk then said something I will always remember... "Welcome to America"

Called a .338 lapua, a .338 Leupold...... And it was to a guy who shoots the Lupua with a Leupold optic.... Not my brightest moment in my 21 years... Then again I am only 21, so I have some more time to screw up worse.
