A friend of mine posed a good question this weekend. If your carrying and have to use a public restroom, what do you do with your gun if its in a holster on your waist? And I'm talking a #2 lol.

Personally, I'd hold it if at all possible, otherwise I honestly don't know what I'd do.

If you can find a 5 year old girl, let her hold it for you. Actually, I just leave it in the holster; it retains well enough, and if I have somebody perving under the door at me that much I'm glad I have it.

I only deuce in female public bathrooms. I find they're less crowded, less unwanted noises, and more helpful stall-neighbors if I run out of TP. Having said that, I like to put pieces of paper on the walls and practice holster drills while taking aim at them. I make sure I drop the magazine so there's no possible way a round could still be in the gun. Then, when finished, I wash my hands, the gun, my hands again, pull up the pants, and exit. I get a lot of screams at the sink. It's like they've never seen a man wash a gun before.

I hate public bathrooms with a passion and only use them if I know I won't be home for awhile or its truly an emergency. Regardless, I think the hammock looks like the best option when you do have to go.

I like the idea about fastening the belt. I would hte to be the one (again) to leave my pistol in a stall and walk off.

On the other hand, I try not to use many public bathrooms. They are usually too dirty to leave anything on the floor, especially my weapon. If I am in a local setting, I will find one I can trust.
