Had to leave my Glock in the lockbox in the truck sadly because it took place in a venue in the horseshoe casino. This is in a crappy part of Hammond but the wife bought me tickets as a gift and I really like the singer.

Saw Aaron Lewis (previous lead singer of the Staind). I enjoy his music, between a few songs he talked about current events. Obvious pro gun guy, has a song about his grandfather's gun hanging over the mantle and how it's not worth much but it's not for sale etc. He also asked the audience stand up and say the pledge of allegiance with him to a giant flag that served as a stage backdrop before he started. A few thousand people stood and said it with him. He had a few words about our current leader. Addressed him as a slur of words that will get me a warning / ban here.

I had a good time. Aaron Lewis is a good guy in my book.

That's a great song. I only liked one song by Staind (It's Been Awhile), because the rest of that CD is pretty dark. But then again it was the only CD of theirs that I had. I was surprised that he had gone into a more country vein with "Granddaddy's Gun".

I saw him last year when he was at the BlueBird in Bloomington... A very different and diverse crowd to say the least, but there were a lot of gun guys there! I am sure many carrying.

If he "fully supports gun rights" then why would he appear at a venue that refuses to allow you the right to self defense?

If I'm not mistaken don't casinos have to provide lock boxes for customers to check their firearms? Maybe this doesn't strictly apply in your case but if it did you could have carried your piece all the way in and not have to worry about being rolled on your way to/from your vehicle without having a chance to fight back.

I went to a concert last year in Louisville and left it in the hotel because I thought they might have metal detectors. Once that show was over and I was on the streets downtown at 11pm, I sure wish I was armed. The non-American cab driver really concerned me when he took us purposely out of the way to the hotel. This will not happen again!

They do but one must unload the gun, then give it to someone I don't know to do whatever they want to it. I was forced to choose between needlessly unholstering it to unload it and leave it with a stranger or locking it in a lockbox in my truck cabled to a seat mount.

    Neither is a good option.

I was at the horseshoe last week and they do have lock boxes at the coat check. Just let them know and it'll get taken care of.

Didn't have to unload mine at Horseshoe in Elizabeth, just told em I needed to store my gun and they showed me where to put it. Not a negative word was said by security. Also, don't know how the place is laid out, but I've carried at every concert I've been to at Horseshoe, the show room isn't actually IN the casino portion of the property.

Yeah at the Hammond one you have to walk through a few hundred slots to get to the venue :(.
