Watching scrambled channel on TV hoping to get a glimpse of a naked female body part.

I signed up for cable myself while I was still living with the rents. They wouldn't pay for TV but there was stuff I wanted to watch. I took the box open and descrambled the signals myself. It was actually easy (for engineer quantities of easy), they were just suppressing the sync. So I put a detector and sync stabilizer on it, and had all the pay channels, HBO, Show****, Skinemax. I used a lot of VHS tapes for a couple of years there :):

OMG yes, the 78s. I have a couple of 78s of Moran and Mack, The Two Black Crows, which was I think the last blackface act in Vaudeville. Yes, yes they were. I'm pretty sure these were wax, but the 78s were originally slate. Lost technology; I don't have a record player that can spin a record that fast. I haven't even seen one for probably 15-20 years.

ETA: My uncle worked for RCA and had 45s in all the colors they made, hanging on the wall down in their family room.

Everybody having gun racks with real guns in them at school in the parking lot in the back window of your pickup truck.
Every kid carrying a "pocket knife".
    Clapping the erasers of chalk.
Smelling the methanol coming off of fresh copies for tests.
'E' was all of the above and 'F' was none of the above on multiple guess questions.
"Latch key kids" - I was one.
    Reading and writing in cursive.
    Sewing, home economics and shop.
    Driver's ed in school.

Getting a new cassette to save your computer file. Hunting for night crawlers for fishing. Cutting the grass with no gas or extension cord. Penny candy at the local store. All adults were sir or maam

Hunter safety in school. Shooting trap or practicing archery in gym class. Student / teacher pranks that did not involve a restraining order or swat call out.

    Near the big river.
Be home when the street lights come on.

Mom ringing a school bell to call us to dinner.

Waiting 5 minutes for the tv to warm up.

Shoveling snow for money. [grew up in Western NY].
