I want to test my 10.5 pistol lower build and sight it in as best I can. Since I am unable to shoulder it am I ok to put it on a bipod to stabilize it?

And mine does drop out of the bottom.... I was hoping the intended use as bipod could be the override. Some interwebz searching is telling me it might not be worth the risk.

You could always rest it on a sandbag or some similar set-up.

THIS. Even more stable than a bipod, and absolutely ZERO chance of running afoul of the law. Ive got a bipod on my rifle, and find that sighting in I'm still better and more accurate with a sandbag.
